There really isn't a point to getting modules unless you are an ECM mech. All but 2 modules are nullified by ECM. The ones that aren't are Advanced Zoom, which not everyone is happy with. Or the Base Cap one. The problem with the base cap one is that base capping is only a tactic in the beginning, or middle of a match. Who cares if you have a +15 bonus when the enemy team is dead but that one Jenner? And if you cap in the beginning or middle, your own team will hate you for 'stealing' their brawl time.

Honestly dont think they will add any cbills boost but why dont they enlarge the skill tree?

Another Module Slot?

2-5% more armore (you can choose where)?

1-3 Mech slots?

I would love to see some specific abilities at the skill tree which are only given to your variant.

Or some Specific abilities like 5% more damage on your lazers probably which are not availible only on your variant.

There are many ways to enlarge the skill tree.

Simple idea.

The 2x in 'basic' unlocks should become 3x, Elite should gain a 2x.

Fluff wise, by this point in being with my HBK-4G we're a finely tuned entity. It's computers are used to my neurohelmet and there is a very large sweat stain of my *** cheeks on the control couch (most mechwarriors drive in their thundercrackers due to heat).

BUT it should only be for that Mech not another HBK-4G just that one. If I buy another 4G to do something dumb with that mech only gets the standard 2x, 1x to reflect that whilst I know the chassis VERY well I'm not intimate with this particular old girls quirks yet.

Buffing the base skills to 3x and elite to 2x would make them too overpowered.
And it still would be a one time only XP sink.

The total XP on a mech variant should unlock decals you can put on your mech to indicate that you are a seasoned veteran with that model.
And a CB boost with XP tiers would make sense. If you'd hire a mercenary you could get a cheap rookie or a more expensive veteran.

For example:
Mastered variant unlocks a decal
Mastered variant with 50.000XP increases CB payout by 2%
Mastered variant with 100.000XP increases CB payout by 4%
Mastered variant with 200.000XP increases CB payout by 6%

So to get that 20% bonus you get with a hero mech you'd have to get 12.800.000XP
And to get 30% bonus you'd have to get 409.600.000XP (gl with that)

I currently have ~1.120.000XP total for ~1800 matches played, so, you see what would be needed to get a big bonus payout.

EDIT:
For Hero and Founders mechs the boni would be added like the premium time bonus. An additional xx% from the normal payout.
As this would be equal for every mech it would mean nobody loses the boni they bought with MC but instead get another bonus added.

Players would love these ideas.

I don't think PGI would.

In fact, im sure they are quite content with the players having to use MC to get value out of their XP on mastered mechs.

I am in for that.

I think this also applies to 'favourite' mechs. We all love one variant in particular for whatever reason, but at some point, yeah, we can't progress any more with it.

Maybe a maxed out variant, instead of picking up regular XP, starts to additionally unlock credits to use for certain 'elite' paint customizations or something else that doesn't have an effect on regular gameplay flow?

This, This , and this. I think this would be amazing. Make one camo for each mech that only unlocks at 500,000 accumulated EXP. Then maybe down the line a 1,000,000 exp camo? That would be epic, and make the grind far less tedious.

Even if PGI doesn't like them, the XP we gain on mastered mechs are pretty much useless.
I've yet to see someone wasting GXP for unlocking skills on another mech and I doubt many people use their MC for XP->GXP conversion.

Also, the avaliable modules are not worth investing GXP yet.
Many of them became useless with the introduction of ECM which diesn't require any GXP and is very cheap to buy.

The MC -> GXP conversion rate is quite good actually. Other than Mech bays, what the hell else is one to use it for?

this idea would probably require more work than any of the others, but i will put it out there anyway.

what if after all 3 variants of a mech were mastered, a new hero type mech were unlocked that was only playable for those who reached mastery. maybe these master mechs are purchasable by only XP or MC, but any xp from one of your mastered mechs can be used along with GXP.

this would encourage people to buy more mechs, to unlock the master mechs. the developers would add more opportunities to make money from the game, players would have something else to spend XP on, and players would have something substantial to work towards.

you might even end up with players who spend lots of money just to collect the master mechs.

i think i am going to make this idea into it's own thread.

i like idea for a straight up conversion of standard xp earned on a mech
into c-Bills, (on mastered mechs only)

god knows i have enough xp on my HBK-4SP,
but i never seem to have enough c-Bills lol
