I don't have the answer. I just wanted to give a quick comparison. When I play armored core some times I will spend hours painting my mechs. Literally hours. Its been that way for me forever and I dont even really like the design of those mechs but the paint system is really good. Even in the new X-com I spend considerable amounts of time matching my squads colors up and what not. Fasa Battlemechs are probably my favorite tech IP. The only things I like nearly as much are some gamesworkshop products. That being said I have put maybe 10 min into painting my mech here and I don't even think about what it looks like.

I think its a mix between not having enough colors to play with and only having 3 places to actually place the colors that is the problem. In AC you could really customize the paint job by being able to paint many different spots on the mech. Maybe PGI should pick up any of the Armored Core games and see what a good engaging paint system feels like. Then start marketing colors from a real life miniature brand of paints and start selling us paints by the jar with x uses instead of this one time pay to spray which is not very engaging.

Its so boring because its the most simple implementation they could put in that still serves its function. More colors, schemes and features will come Soon™.

Note that there is a whole other facet of mech painting coming: decals

This will likely involve a much finer, more detailed approach regarding exact placement, colour, and content of applied decals.

The Palettes need to have richer color depth, Actual House specific colors: Davion Green, Steiner Blue, Marik Purple, Kurita Red & Liao Jade. I hope we will get more free reign in painting Our mechs, or at least better designs to work with.

There were hints that when CW is in, and each House has it's own merit points (House Rep), there would be cosmetic rewards/purchases to spend that house rep on.

Hi bud. Yeah I agree we need a richer depth and maybe like high gloss, flat etc....

I did not hear anyone being all impatient or anything. I think you heard what you wanted to so you could say ffs. I just wanted to point out how it would be more fun to me, obviously in the future, when they update it, to make it better :)

I'm going to guess 1000 to 2000 MC ($5 to $10) to buy a decal, you can apply it to one mech, and it will only go where they put it, not where you want it. And it will be an additional 250MC ($1.39) to pick a color for it (assuming a single color decal)... unless it has 3 colors in which case you'll pay 750MC ($4.17) to pick all three colors. And if you ever want to change it in any way, you'll have to pay that all over again.

I've lost faith that they will price anything reasonably.

Does anybody understand brainstorming and wishlists? At least we aren't going "OMG THIS IZ BROKKEN GIMME MI MUNEZ BAK!!!"

We are constructively discussing things to hope for and how we would like to see it.

Someone needs a nap! :(

Topic on thread isn't looking for constructive discussion, it's a QQ title. And if that was the true intent, it would be in the suggestion forum, because I'm sure that forum gets a ton more traffic from the Devs than this one does.

Nice try though Sparky.

+1 Anything Armored Core. Of course, they've had generations of games to figure this out. To this day there's no Mech Combat game that gets a garage right like Armored Core.

My dream is still an Armored Core MMO or VS game. Can you imagine Planetside 2 but in ACs? Please FSM, make this wish come true.
