The problem is that making people adapt will drive away the casual solo players. They want to play just for fun and are often willing to pay some money to have that fun. Changes that require people to "play smarter" will penalise them far more than organised groups.
That is why ECM is OP, because it widens the gap between coordinated players and solo players just because a group can coordinate what mechs they bring as well as how they are used. Losing is not as fun as winning and driving away the solo casual players will be the death of this game because there are a huge number of potential solo casual players compared to the skilled hardcore who keep saying that ECM doesn't cause them a problem. The L2P and L2Aim attitudes are elitist and accommodating those views at the expense of the "bad players" will drive players away.
