Put in voice for all drops without requiring third party software. Give players the ability to mute and to turn off their teams voice if they want.

You just removed the communication advantage that many pre-mades have using third party voice apps. Now you just have left the ornery disposition and lack of play ability that some people have, and you can't fix stupid.

Here I was, thinking that new netcode and improved client stability were the way to "fix" the game.

How foolish I have been.

Honestly, voice comms are something that a user can easily do themselves. Yes, it would make things easier for players if it was implemented directly into the game, but if you feel like voice comms are that much of an advantage, yet aren't willing to get on a TS server, in-game voice comms aren't going to help you.

Voice comms are needed. Simple to use ones like the ones used in DDO. Bar none it has the best integrated voice chat of any game. Also I think they can work on that concurrent to good netcode, dontcha think? Not like there is two people in there rock paper scissoring what they do next.

The Cheese is a zero sum kind of guy. I love people like that, they keep my salary high due to lack of competition.

Everyone who wants to use voice coms are already using it on TS. That leaves the people who don't want to use them because they don't want to wake their spouse/kids, People who will never use them because they don't want to hear teenagers using profanity or playing music, and teenagers who want to use profanity and play music but their mercenary groups won't let them do that on their private TS servers.

HEre I thought a mute button would come with an ingame voice comm. Also you dont need to talk to get the benefit of voice comms, if you dont want to wake your spouse or kids odds are you are wearing headphones. So what now would there be any downside to ingame comms again?

Ok the Wife and kid I can accept, The Kids... Even on ComStar I haven't ran into a player that was less than friendly, so cussing teens is a boogieman that does not exist in my experience.

No, you take him to the vet and leave him there for a few hours.

Oh, you meant fix as in "repair". . . my, what a misunderstanding.

The only thing that need fixing is the ******* net code (and weapon/equipment balance)

More content would just make the game more appealing to the masses and more fun.

they said "While we do not currently have an official voice chat server" i hope it implies they are working on one.

Neither have I. But it seems to be a big concern to some people.

However, even on ComStar or NGNG servers, you are running with a TEAM that you play multiple matches with. If you were rude, then they could just not play with you anymore. Or would be banned from the server.

This is different than being matched with people for just one game. I feel people would be much more rude if there were no consequences. It's bad enough to hear people complain about their pugs in the forums. Imagine hearing that every match.

I'm not at all saying that it wouldn't be great to have. I just don't think the OP is correct when he says that the game is broken because it doesn't currently have integrated voice comms.

planetside 2 voice integration is amazing. i really wish the developers played other games. i dont see how anyone can make a good game if they don't take from where other people do well

You know, that's a real spiffy idea. It only costs about US$3MM to implement given licensing fees, G&A hiring and product integration.
Any idea how many more Legendary founder subs they would need to sell to get this into the game ?
You seem like a smart guy, so I'll just leave this tidbit here.
Also, Crytek has no native support for voice chat, so it would require additional people to monitor and moderate.

You know what's funny? If they had integrated the Pre-Order system I suggested about four months ago they could have easily raised the funds for integrated VoIP.
