Runs fine on my Amiga 500, of course I had to connect a couple of extra car batteries, and replace the timing chip with a hamster in a wheel (he's on an IV drip to keep him hydrated)....but other wise it's all good.

Yea except some of us work 60-70 hour weeks for our cash darling.

We don't expect to sit down in the evenings from a hard days work trying to relax and get hit with sub 30 FPS during combat.

My gaming rig should smash this to pieces in terms of requirements given that I have the latest gen i5 3570k running at 4ghz stable and I STILL get poor frame rates at times it's insane. (just an FYI i updated my rig from a Core 2 quad and it wasn't updated for this game even so it's beyond idiotic that i'm getting fps dropping to 30's or less during intense fights.)

Nothing excuses this kind of terrible performance.

Im not convinced this is all pgi's fault...

P67 sabertooth
2500k oc'd @ 4.2ghz
16gb 1600 ram
gtx 660 sc 2gb video

all settings maxed, mwo runs at 60fps.

My internet connection (based on dls, havent run speed test) dls at >1gb/s.

I do get rubber banding when I run into buildings but havent had a frame rate issue since the beginning of open beta (swapped my 560ti for the 660 sc).

Some of us are just good at managing our checkbooks. I'm not a rich kid by any means. I built this computer myself. Just like I'm slowly upgrading my C4 vette into something truly special, by hand. You save a ton of $ that way if you know where to shop and how to shop.

Also this game really isn't handling all that much. "high detail environments"? really? I've seen bigger more detailed environments in RIFT than this game.
"lots of features"? Really? This game isn't juggling more than Crysis 2 I'll tell you that right now.

That dev should just be honest about it, they banged it out the door without a care in the world and now they're hoping they can fix it. I'm willing to wait, it's not like there's another mechwarrior title coming out anytime soon. But I'm not going to give them the wait I gave Cryptic for STO pvp. I'm not going to give them 3 years. They'll get a year. Tops. We are in Beta, you shouldn't be making your game persistently worse in terms of frame rate with each coming patch, especially since frankly you aren't adding that much, and the stuff that you know actually matters, are more particle effects, higher detailed graphics, and better physics. Everything else is stuff a TI 86 can handle.

Also I'm pretty sure it's not on my end considering other Cry Engine games I run, at much higher FPS (which not so coincidentally have much higher detail in game than this one does). Whatever it is, I hope they try to fix it soon. There's no reason for this computer to be getting frame drop at all with this game. Let alone be running on average sub 32 fps.

Did you even read his post. He had a six core processor a 6000 Radeon....I'm pretty sure we only had single core cpu's back in 2000 and Radeon was still making the 9800 Pro lol. Stop being such an ignorant *****

I want to know why the game gets more unstable the longer the you play.

For me start the client...
Game1: 30fps
Game2: 20fps
Game3: 15fps
Game4: 8-10fps
Game5: Locked at 4fps/crash/blackscreen
Restart client
Repeat.

This happens like clockwork.
When I first started playing in CB I crashed every other game so overtime with each patch I get an extra game outta the client.

HOW?!

I don't have this problem, can play all day long without needing to restart, and I've been playing since June in closed beta and only ran into the 4fps bug ONCE

Luck of the draw and system config issue i guess

For those wondering I have a AMD quad core. OCed to 3.1 ghz
8 gigs of DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1600 (this was the factory speed) speed ram which has also been OCed.
and a EVGA GTX 460 graphics card. Also OCed

I was going to do some (more) upgrading. Till I bought Crysis 2 and realized I'm playing Crysis 2 at 45 FPS on it's max settings.

Now I'm just going to put some of that money towards my Corvette getting either a 383 stroker engine, or a pair of performance heads instead.

Is there a fix for this? Fresh re-install maybe?

I run battlefield 3 on msotly high in 64 play games with destructible environments generally at 60-80 fps...

In MWO I get like, 20-35 on high (shadows low) then change it to medium and low, and nothing changes.

6 core processor, 6950 2 gb, run all other games no problem.

Depending on whether you have a low or high end 6 core processor, your system may be strictly better than mine, and I'm getting between 40-50 FPS consistently with max settings (but AA is off). So something strange is going on there.

6950 1GB
i5-2500k
8GB RAM

For all those who are wondering "Why the hell I get horrible FPS with such an amazing video card?"...

Well, let me tell you a story:

Most of the processing is done by he CPU, certain CPU extensions/microcode can make this game spit better FPS... a core i5 is the min CPU you need to run the game, maxed out. Im talking about 60+ fps.

I own a i5 760 (2.4 ghz) and a GTX 570... my framerate is 60+ most of the time ONLY if I overclock my CPU to 4Ghz... overclocking the videocard wont make any diffrence, plus videocard is working at 70% of his capacity most of the time...

And yes, I have also maxed AA and "fine tuned" options on my video drivers for quality.

If I go back to the "Turbo Boost" scheema and stuff my FPS will drop to 25+

Take a few minutes to "overclock" your CPU / RAM and you will see better FPS, otherwise just wait for DX11

yeah all I hear for most low fps ppl is your computer sucks upgrade it... then I read something like this... and it makes me worried to click the buy button on $500 worth of upgrades sitting in my newegg cart right now.

my computer is not top of the line but it meets min specs, and it also plays other games at a medium detail with plenty of FPS... so I just don't know what to do. I've dropped $120 on this game already and I don't know how much more I want to put into it right now.

The game is incredibly processor hungry. If your running a quad core make sure all the cores are recognized by the system and they are all being utilized. First start the resource monitor, click on the cpu section. You should see a list of the number of cores and their usage on the right. Typically it will display more cores that you have on the chip, this is because of hyper-threading. If you see two or four cores only your system may not have recognized those other cores. Run MSconfig, go to boot click on the advanced settings and uncheck the number of processors. Then restart, your system monitor should now detect all the cores and threads available on your cpu.

You may also be able squeeze out an extra few FPS by un-parking a few of your cores. Parked cores are essentially cores which have been turned off until CPU utilization rises and the cores become needed. It is basically a obtuse power saving function in windows 7, which can lead to lower performance. Here is a good article discussing parked cores and how to un-park them.

Same story, High End PC and bad performance.
Specs:
i7 3960X@4.2
GTX 580 3gb SLI
16 gigs DDR3 2133

and its is impossible to get this game to run at a stable 60fps at 1080p at this point. My gpu usage is always lower than it should be. Ill be at like 60 percent usage on one of my 580s and get dips into the 40fps range. I think there is something going on with the CPU thats bottlenecking performance. If I play at 2560X1440 then I get one of my gpus pegged at 99%, but since sli isnt implemented yet I there really is no point.

And you get ... 60fps. And don't think there's an issue here.

With that rig, you should be getting about twice that frame rate. You should literally have more frames than you know what to do with :D

This is a MWO problem. Take any other game with equal (or significantly better) graphics and run it on the same rig; the fps will be staggeringly higher.

I can run other games at 2560x1600 (Dell 30") and get better frame rates than this hog @ 1920x1200.
