This bug occurs when you hit the 'scoreboard' key during chat mode. As long as you don't hit the scoreboard key, mech commands remain disabled while typing a chat message.

I've been wondering why that happens. It's very annoying when you type something in the chat and suddenly mech turns off because you happened to press the p-key (or mech is alpha striking and turning erratically because you are pushing those keys).
