I also "GUARANTEE" they won't play more than a few days tops..... This is pretty much a "niche" game, and they won't understand it, or want to..
.
Just the reality of the situation folks, don't blame me, blame reality....

I'd like to take this moment to thank reality then.

If they fix the crippling issues, without a doubt. Goldvision and trialmechs are the biggest obstacles to getting new players into the game.

Given how many hero or founders mechs I see crawling around battlefields, I would bet the game is doing great from a money standpoint- especially considering it is still early beta. (The Ilya Muromets one cost half the buy in cost of a full game, and I see those constantly)

"A fool and their money (Or MC as it where...) are soon parted"
I'm a major fool because I absolutely love my Ilya... Worth every penny!

I looked at the releases this summer, but just looked at it again since the founders program ended. One week earlier and I would have got it. Hunting season is a killer, especially on time.
So for the last few months I decided that for my limited time to read the posts, watch a few hours of video, prior to joining over the weekend. I remember what ECM was like in the board game.
Since then I have died many interesting ways, but it only took me three games to get a kill. So after a few hours I got out of the trial mechs and purchased one with Cbills. Now I just have to get better at running around then focusing on targeting. Then the my little bird will be running around. After that it is more mechs.
I was use to LRM boats many games and years ago, but I did prefer the lasers, auto cannons and a few flights of LRMs on the way in. The one problem I still have is movement vs torso twist and the shaking from hits. It could be the lag time, but just trying to fire with aiming is hard when you see a blurred screen or flickers of what is going on around you. Then get hit by auto cannons and missiles. It may be I will need to play in a way to avoid direct brawls due to lag from what I am seeing now.
When I hung back firing LRMs from a Hunchback it was easy, but spotting with a light was fun. The awesome with three ERPPC's was nice to try, until I caused the unwanted direct undivided attention of the remaining team members.
What I do not like is the cap runs where each team goes a different direction and no one fires a round. Then later larger maps.
All is in the future and when we get there it may be better, more space on the maps, larger groups, different objectives.

in it Bryan addresses how they feel about their current growth as of Nov. 26th.
Since that thread has begun there are approx. 18395 more users for the forums which only represent some unknown percentage of players.
Seems fine to me.

8v1 is not a "match". 7v8 is also, not a "match". Whether or not the message pops up instead of dumping me into a fu<ky game with an uneven number of players has nothing to do with whether or not "matches" are being found. Most of the time, they are not, for one reason or another.

Also up for debate is the number of multiple accounts made by trolls & disgruntled players.

You must have the worst of luck. Either that, or you're exaggerating a bit.
I get one or two "Failed to find a match" messages a week (roughly 30 hours of playing), and then I just press "Launch" again and get into a match. I haven't seen anything more lopsided than 8v7 since closed beta, and certainly no 8v1. The overwhelming majority of my matches start 8v8.

Sure, there's some of those. I don't think they outnumber the 50-90% of players who never visit the forums though.
