Pretty much every military weapon has a "safety switch" of some form that has to be "unlocked" to prevent accidentally KFFs. Are the 35th century people that much stupider than 20th century?
Start matches with weapons locked. Hit "U" to unlock weapons. That should handle the vast bulk of the accidental alpha strikes into the backs of friends when the match starts. (Dont forget to put a big red "WEAPONS LOCKED - Hit U" on the HUD, 21st century game players are not super swift sometimes either.)
