If I Was Ballistic Mech I'd.....

Even though my ballistic weapons are in fixed locations spread over three torsos, I'll stand toe to toe with another mech, knowing my weapons will converge on the center torso, even if it is mathematically impossible for me to hit them with 3 ac10s at the same time in the same location.
I've played a gaussapult and pretended it's normal for a rig with two fixed weapons to be able to hit the same location on a mech at the exact same time. *It's ******* impossible, you have two locked torso weapons. They can't move independently to give you a shot on someone's head or center torso. It's literally impossible. It's a ******** mechanic and you know it.

Your argument would be sound, but torso weapons arent fixed emplaced guns....and you can run out of ammo for ballistics quite easily unless you want to move and track like a slug.

Possibly. I'd expect turbulence effects might alter their courses before that happened, but that's conjecture.

That is a good way to get killed, FYI.
Don't get me wrong, I've gotten kills doing exactly what you describe - but it does, sadly, rely on your target being braindead, basically. They have to kind of not move for a while, unless you are a crack shot. And it exposes you to fire - possibly more than you bargained for, or someone who can nail a cockpit at that same range with dual gauss rifles. It is not that hard on an immobile target, it really isn't.
Best bet with ballistics right now?
"Juggle" multiple ballistic mechs in and out of cover and saturate their leading or exposed mechs with as much fire as possible. If you stand and shoot, you are a target. You move up and down behind a hill, or in and out from behind cover, with multiple mechs? Damage gets spread around your units, you get to focus one of theirs (ideally, at any rate.)

Every time ive come up against a Muromets w/3 UACS in a slug fest, my 4x has won.. the 2 AC/2s are still better then that 3rd UAC/5.
