I think it's an interesting design and could possibly add a level of realism to MWO not to mention it looks a hell of a lot more comfortable than a keyboard.

Thoughts?

I like... could be a good project for the shark tank... (the show, not the actual tank).

Actually, the more I look at it, the more I am wondering how precise it would be, since you need to move your whole arm to move it, and how fast could you really be with it... Bigger movements, more time, still want to try it, but I can see you being clumsier with it in game.

I think it would work great for a game like MWO..
However, I don't think it would work nearly as well as standard keyboard for other games, such as fast paced action shooters, strategy games, or games like Dota/LoL. I have a couple of buttons on the side of my mouse(for thumb) and even those aren't the most comfortable to use. I can see a lot of accidental button pushing when fast movements are needed. Either way, cool project, if it was affordable I think I'd buy it just for MWO.

The front buttons on the bottom face look cumbersome to reach, and the joystick controller will slow down any double-tap movements. The only advantage here is the thumb buttons on the side. There are a few games that could benefit from it, but otherwise it's not necessary or beneficial for most games.

I wouldn't use it in MWO over a keyboard.

MWO does not support analog controls for left and right turns. You either make a full turn or no turn at all.

There is one way to do it (chopping the signal coming from the controller) but it's neither practical nor simple.

Funny, when I bought one it was called the Belkin n52te speedpad.
It works OK with MWO, but honestly I prefer the keyboard.

Seems like this tools advantage is measuring the 'intensity' of the input (how far you move the stick) while freeing up some fingers. In some games it would work, FPS like ARMA. God knows I could use some more fingers for that game. This is not an FPS though and I don't think that style of input is ideal. This game is honestly slow enough that an input allowing even more gradual turns is not necessary.

WASD for me.

The Wasdio seems like a good compromise between keyboard and joystick.
The main question is how good the sensors on this thing are.

Doesn't matter. The thing won't be funded. It has less than a month to make about 140K to even be funded

I prefer ESDF layout for more access to keys and don't see much of a benefit to it except if you enjoy analog turning and the game is tailored to that. Especially in some shooters where you do much circle-strafing or very precise back and forth strafing, this controller might actually be a disadvantage.

I want one. All of my money.

That, or give me D-pad support for my nostromo.

Just bind WASD to the dpad on the nostromo. That's what I did when I had mine.

That's what I've done, but it doesn't do diagonal directions. (up/left, for example)

Well like anything I'm sure it requires at least a little bit of practice to become proficient. I doubt very few people could plug it in and have zero impact on there play. Personally, for MWO I think it would be cool, especially if you were going for realism since you wouldn't need the wasd keyboard nonsense and you wouldn't need pedals or twisty stick to make your mech turn. I dunno I think it has potential. They said they were working on ergonomics like making it shorter and tuning the springs, as well as making the grip more comfortable. I would use this over the razer artemis any day as it would have more uses in other games and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
