Ohh philosophic debate; ok, I have one!

If you walk into a restaurant when it's closed, and give the waiter 2 bucks for a coffee, is the store open?

Hmm, must be if they take your money and give you coffee...have one for you. If it looks, quacks, moves, smells, and tastes like a duck but is called a turkey does it make a turkey or a duck?

Labels are just that labels....what you are isn't changed by a label. Hey look at that, you have a nifty beta label. LOL

Does the sign on the door say "closed" or "open for beta" ?

Yes, the store is open. It's not just letting one person into the restaurant when it's closed, your letting EVERYONE in to buy coffee. (With bright neon lights outside advertising the fact)

If your not open, why is everyone in your store buying coffee???

What you are isn't changed, expectations should be.

Gmail was in beta for forever, even though people were expecting the world from it because they're used to other products and services at the same level that aren't in beta. I get that Gmail's a free product, but still.

Lower your expectations. I'm a legendary founder, I've obviously dropped the money on this game yet I have no issues waiting (on content and balancing, Crash to Desktops are another story *COUGH FIX IT PLEASE*). After going through WoW for 6 years, I've learned to be patient while new content's introduced and balancing issues are solved.

So the devs opened the doors and let folks in. It isn't time to open yet and there's only fresh coffee, but they say they will accept your money if you get it yourself.

So suddenly half the people start griping loudly there isn't any fresh pie, and get rude when the proprietor just looks at them sadly.

I feel like Gabriel in 'Constantine': You should better appreciate your host.

well you start your own game up and run things your way. They are a small company and the game is coming along. Yes it does have problems but it will get better over time.

LOL great counter argument. My point was maybe they should take some pointers from the bigger companies that have already done this MMO thing. It's called feedback. If you want to see something succeed you communicate if it's failing or accomplishing the goal. Stepping in line doesn't really help them see what bugs are still out there or the way the community wants the game to go. Since we are the paying customer, they should try to make us happy. By your argument we should just shut up, fall in line and not worry about it. Sorry, I want to see this succeed so I'll keep telling them what I think.

No.

I do, however, request a tinfoil hat for my Jenner.

Hmm never said they should follow all feedback. Just said they need it in order to gauge where the path should lead for developing the game. Just pointed out that shutting up and falling in line because "it's beta!!!!" isn't really the way to go. Keep them coming, these are great points....

It's not about the customer catering to the company.

Right now it needs to be a 2 way street. We have to give our patience, our time, and some of us will also give our money when we want to.

PGI in turn provides content, bug fixes, and a very fun game to play.

Darn straight. Cheaper than Christmas lights.

Or a paint job.
