Do People Not Know This Is Beta?

The MWO forum community doesn't care. They are mostly trolls and idiots that believe that because they spent some money that they are entitled to dictate how the game should be designed. They also seem to have the memory span of a rock. All you can do is give constructive criticism back to PGI and try to ignore the mass idiocy around you. Every now and then you will come across a great individual posting something constructive. Treasure that. It is rare.

What worries me is it doesn't feel like content is missing. It feels like we just aren't going to get it, like they decided to not implement it. Mechtree for example feels tacked on and useless. It feels like the easy route to take instead of having something that's well thought out and engaging.

I care... having already put $160 in (which I've never done on any game previously), of course I care... however, when I want to discuss a point with PGI, or make them aware of my views, I do so in a concise and polite email, or in the suggestions section, again in a concise and polite fashion
I don't scream and shout and stomp my feet like a 3 year old which is what the vast majority of threads on this forum do
for all its faults, I actually enjoy playing MWO even in it's current state and even when they nerf my favourite weapon... I'm really looking forward to new maps, game modes, CW etc... in the meantime learn to adapt to what is here now
and I don't just automatically defend everything PGI do, I will quite happily have a sensible discussion with someone who wants one and not someone who just posts up "fix my pet feature yesterday or I quit"

I have also noticed on the forums how people think that by insulting PGI and the devs they can get things changed. If there is something about the game you don't like or think isn't working the way it should then by all means make a post about it, we are beta testers and it is our job to do so. The devs need to know how we feel about the game not how we feel about them. If they read a post that insults them they are not going to take it seriously. When you post, state what the problem is, state what if any ideas you have to fix it and do it with without insulting the devs or anyone else and they might actually listen to what you have to say.
Well... it's open to everyone and they're accepting real money. Sure, they can call it Beta... but most other games that are actually in Beta and plan to have cash shops just give the testers some free currency to test that stuff.

The lack of information is plain disturbing, I don't know why it doesn't bother you.
I mean they haven't even release an official chart with the weapon values yet...

I can say I'm the queen of France. It doesn't really make me the queen of France.

the problem is that we don't even know what conquest is much less how it will work, and that is the problem.

it doesnt matter until it comes out , its not like you can practice it or anything.
Im sure there will be a video or a write up by pgi as it gets near or day of release.

Right now the game is in some strange limbo between development and product. I try to extend patience and understanding to the guys are Piranha, I know they are working hard. At the same time, I think there are valid criticisms to make about the game and chalking up every problem to "it's a Beta" won't do.

Please tell me when did the Beta start, i think we are still in Alpha, as lot of Equipment on the
Roadmap is not even online.
But i guess when they make Premium time permanent we realy reached Open Beta the first time.. was 13 Days ago.

A new raid is not a new game mode.
It's like adding Arenas, and not explaining how arenas work beforehand...

That depends on the company and how much they listen to the "customers". My wife just bought me a book for $155 that doesn't even exist yet (hopefully will next year). I had a say in everything in it from lore to art included, and i get my name in the credits.
I generally feel that PGI does listen to our opinions and even though some posts may be annoying they know that many of us are passionate about MWO and it is reflected in our posts.
Sometimes though i feel that PGI are playing the players. Like maybe they decide on how something should be implemented and so that we will agree with them they release it very OP, we complain and it gets nerfed into oblivion, we complain again and they buff it to where they originally wanted it, then we feel it is fine where it is.
"It says Beta". Who cares? It could say Alpha, Beta, or Monkey dribble and not make any difference.
"No more wipes". I'd say this is the difference between MWO and every other beta i've been in. It's the first game that didn't/won't have a final wipe when the company decide to go to full release.
"It doesn't have 90% of its content yet" Nice to see some optimism on the forums, but i'm starting to believe that it does have 90% of the content and CW will be nothing more than a world map where "clans" can take areas (like WoT).
In the end PGI can call it what they like and release content/patches/fixes when they like (although i've never seen a game as slow with hotixes as this).
Imo there are no more wipes, therefore to me it is released...just with (hopefully) little content.

If those are your qualifier PGI could potentially keep running MWO for years, and continue to claim that the game is in beta.
LOL
