A turn-based tactical game is certainly an easier game system to get up and running, nobody should be surprised Will make the wait for MWO a little more bearable

A Beta race between MWO and Tactics? For me, it's a little hard to compare the two. It is almost like comparing MW4 and Mech Commander, two totally different games and play styles. While I am happy that new BattleTech content is coming out, just to sate a certain hunger, I will also definitely wait and not complain for the MWO Beta release.

In the end, I'd rather wait and have an awesome game, than to complain and have a product rushed and wind up with a half-hearted effort, in which I lose interest in playing quickly.

Unsurprising, but I think we all know what will be the superior game in the end.

First of all; From the email...

"We are pleased to announce that MechWarrior: Tactics will be entering 'Friends and Family' on May 22nd".

Guess what? MWO is ALREADY IN Friends and Family beta mode.

Second. It's like those multi-class races that Europeans are so fond of; you see an R1 class supercar racing around the track lapping A Class or even B Class production cars. Same thing applies here; The games are apples to oranges. Sure they are on the same track but they aren't competing in the same class.

Well put, Grimm. Personally, I'm still excited. Tactics means I'll have something to do at work while pining for MWO. Did I say pining? I meant waiting. Patiently. And not sweating.

There are THREE (3) MechWarrior games due out this year, all in different flavors:

• MechWarrior Online: MMORPSimulator, set in 3049 at launch
  
• MechWarrior Tactics: Asymetrical Turn Based Strategy Game (similar to the original TableTop game), set in 3025
  
• MechWarrior Tactical Command: RTS (similar to MechCommander), set during the Clan Invasion of 3050. Also only for the iOS (iPad, iPod/iPhone) {also hasn't been updated in a long while... could be dead?}

So with these three games, I figure they've got all their bases covered. BattleTech in almost every way you could want.
