I totally agree with adding the ECM to matchmaking criteria.
Most of the time when I'm in a match the team with more ECM mechs usually wins. And if there's a team without a single ECM mech then they're screwed.
Or just redesign the way ECM works. I didn't really play MW4 or MW4Mercs MP but the ECM there seemed to rather delay weapon locks and not completely jam the enemy mech's instruments.

Why not just balance ECM? I get why mech tonnage needs to be regulated, but if you start regulating drops on a per equipment basis, you're saying that an individual piece of equipment changes the match so much that drops need to be balanced around it. This gives license to balancing drops around any other piece of equipment (instead of just making it balanced) and eventually you get to the point where no one can find a matched drop because the drop system is too convoluted.
TLDR: if you need to balance drops based on the amount of ECM one team has, ECM isn't properly balanced and needs to be fixed.

Truth.

I wonder if we could get overall statistics of win/loss ratios based on the number of ECM equipped mechs in teams.
The current ECM implementation has been here for long enough to provide a decent statistical sample and a potential proof of (dis)balance of the ECM.
