Lastest patch was 2 files and was able to get the 1st part but had to leave and turn pc off. Now when tying to patch the rest of it, the patcher downloads the remaining file than just closes itself
without launching the game. Restarting the patcher shows file still needs to be downloaded and the process repeats itself.

If you look under c:\games\piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\PatcherLogs
there will be 3 files
Bootstrap_patcher_log.txt
frontend_patcher_log.txt
ingame_patcher_log.txt

Pasting what they have inside would help other players possibly think of a course to help you.

Have you tried running the patcher with Administrative Rights?

It may be that a corrupted file in the temp dir is causing the problem.
Delete all files in that dir.
On Win7 the default dir is
c:\users\%YourUserName%\AppData\LOcal\Temp\MWOPatch\
On WinXP
c:\Documents and Settings\%YourUserName%\Local Settings\Temp\MechWarriorOnline

Failing that have you just uninstalled and reinstalled?

Happened to me recently, had to uninstall and reinstall all over again. Not a long process, but it resets your personal config.
