But is there any word on adding tanks/infantry to the game?
Not as playable things, mind you, rather as NPCs that fight during the battles/provide a minimum annoyance to mechs?
I think it would make the game look much cooler if they did. Just have infantry fighting from buildings or on the ground (With a very simple AI so it doesn't eat away at our computers).
You could even step on the infantry and squish them! And shoot the tanks for bonus C-bills!
The tanks could be outfitted with basic weapons, much like in previous mech warrior games, and have minimum armor (Taking a couple of blows from any weapon to take out)
I just think something static like that could really add some atmosphere to the game.
Thanks for reading!

Could be reallly good for a take-and-hold game type, as you control bases they spawn npc vehicles to act as guards.

I don't have a link, but I am pretty sure it was said that small vehicles (tanks, APCs, etc...) and infantry will not be in the game.

Yeah I have seen them state that a few times, don't have a link either but take my lazy word for it. Really is a shame, could have added a lot of interesting dynamics .

Might cause more FPS loss on already strained systems.

A lack of that stuff doesn't really bug me that much. A purely mech combat game is fine IMO.

Mechs have always been tanks-on-legs so there was bound to be similarities between the two games. Plus if WoT has customisation options similar to MW:O you could say the tanks are copying the mechs as pretty much all Battletech games have used a similar system.

I mean the games seem way to similar on a basic level, not on a tank levels.
You get 'trial mechs' which are basically the equivalent of those noob tanks you get (Except the mechs can actually do some damage rather then being meatshields)
You select your Trial Mech, queue up, you then get randomly matched with 7 random players (Unless you joined as a team), get placed on a deserted battlefield where for some reason you are fighting over two structures jutting out of the ground on opposite ends of the field (Why you are fighting for said objectives, nobody knows... Remind you of anything?)
You go about tossing yourself face first into the enemy mechs, resulting in a skirmish, and when the dust clears you are usually either 7-1 or 1-7, or rarely 6-6.
Maybe its just the beta similarities, but to me this seems increasing more and more like world of tanks 2.0
