It might be just me but why don't they make the leg that is destroyed stop moving and drag, that way you know it's broken and then it is your own damn fault for shooting at it.

Nice thread necro.

And they DO make the leg drag. When your leg is destroyed, that's what everyone else sees -- a limping 'Mech, dragging one leg.

Well I have only ever seen the leg continue to move but slower, what I'm saying is it should stop moving all together.

But who knows maybe I am imagining the leg continuing to move.

I'm used to the damage transfer and I don't see what's wrong with it. Unless they make it so that a blown off torso is actually blown off graphically (it isn't ) and same with the leg, it's gonna be weird. I don't see the point of removing death from losing both legs. People rarely get legged nowadays anyway.

What would be great though is if they added extra mini-explosions on the mechs for every piece of equipment destroyed through crits. B)

So when are we going to have leg-less mechs falling to the ground and remaining operational while the pilot feverishly tries to aim his arms around to save himself, then getting execution-stomped by an Atlas?

"People rarely get legged nowadays" - I love this sentiment, it makes it so easy to cripple people when they think that no one will shoot their legs. Not that I always aim there, but when I see a leg go red from stray fire, I'll try it. It just sweetens the deal when they have ammo there too.

It would be nice if the model changed to look mangled when side torsos and legs were destroyed. The crippled mech animation is just confusing, I have to look at the paper doll to figure it out.

no damage bleed over is about the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Oh you completely destroyed my side torso but shooting through it wont hit my core because I've got invulnerable junk preventing your shots to my side from reaching my core.

Also hitting the damaged leg should damage the other leg as a representation of you completely tearing that leg off to the point the mech cannot stand.

Ok, this explains why mechs are not dying. I need to stop shooting at destroyed torso's..... I thought that was the point to make them critical and that I can get into the engine(CT) that way. Guess I have to rethink my aim now. Same with the leg... I was wondering why the leg wasn't blowing off any more.

So does this make machine guns completely useless? (like they weren't almost completely useless anyhow)
