Please add (optional) key bindings for zooming in and out. That way we can either use the middle mouse button to zoom (as it is now) or use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. I don't use the wheel right now, and I'd very much like to use the wheel for zoom, even though there's only three levels of zoom.

I'd like to use my wheel as a third button for firing groups, then the scroll to zoom in and out

We used to be able to bind actions to wheel up / wheel down, then it got broken by one of the patches roughly in the middle of CBT and is yet to be fixed.

"middle of CBT"? What? The middle of Classic BattleTech?

Either way, seems to have worked once. Wonder why it's broken now.

Closed Beta Test.

Probably the usual cause - someone got mesmerized by blinking lights and touched something they shouldn't have.

<action name="m_toggle_zoom_mode">
<rebind device="joystick" input="" index="0" defaultInput="j1_pov_right"/>
<rebind device="keyboard" input="mwheel_up" index="2" defaultInput="mouse3"/>

<action name="m_toggle_4x_zoom_mode">
<rebind device="keyboard" input="mwheel_down" index="1" defaultInput=""/>

Add those to the actionmaps .xml file found in /pirahanagames/mechwarrioronline/user/profiles/[YOURNAME]/

LarkinOmega, that makes mwheelup cycle zoom, but doesn't make mwheeldown zoom out for me.

Is there a way to make the mouse wheel control zooming by rolling it up and down? I'm hoping to crank on the wheel and have it zoom in our out depending on direction.

No, there isn't. But it's just a triple click zoom, so getting back to normal is fairly easy. And honestly, since I got the 4x module, I've just been using that instead of the regular.

They do need to add this as default with Zoom in and out bound to up and down (with the added feature to automatically use max zoom if you're zoomed out and go down). But for now, this has to do.

Its incredible that they havent fixed binding of mouse wheel at least.

It would be fantastic if they added zoom out as a keybind as well. Its much more intuitive even though as you say it is quite quick.

Playing around with your zoom levels in the heat of battle is unacceptable.
It can't be impossible to enable mouse wheel zoom either.

I miss using the wheel to scroll weapon groups.

Mouse wheel zoom would be awesome.

Also: a button to cycle through vision modes would be great, vs having dedicated buttons for thermal and low-light.

i also want this, have started a topic about it yesterday, also posted on another so i know theres a few posts out there at least that we can bump ;) makes perfect sense to me to be able to scroll zoom which has no impact like clicking the mouse button and therefore should have no affect on targetting
