Question About The Clan Invasion

Unless im missing it has the time line been missed?

Ok what i mean is with the clans invading in say 6 months or less and im not seeing any thing to make me think there will be any relevance to the clan invading...yes we may get access to a few new clan mechs but whats the point i dont see any work on the planets who controls them what recources there are on the planets ... as such I would think that they are going to have to postpone or reset everyone a whole year at the pace i see thing being added to the mmo of MWO.

so please correct me if im wrong or point me in the direction that lets me know when it will really matter other then to point out bugs with mech/weapons/grafics ..You know the whole point to most of us playing MWO...

He's questioning the lack of information or progress on the actual "universe" that the game has been slated to revolved around.  There were discussions of player/house controlled sectors of the galaxy, each with different resources that would impact possible C-bill/EXP multipliers on winning, mercenary payments, etc.. Basically a meta-game that would tie in, or at least give purpose and a goal to game.

So far there have not been any recent updates to reflect this portion or even future implimentation in the game.

We won't be seeing the clans until 2014 (3051) (if the game still exists, of course).

It has nothing to do with the timeline, it has to do with PGI. They're repeatedly stated they can only produce one new 'mech a month for the game.

Look at the mechs they've announced, do the math. ;)

Even if they managed to finish the IS mechs by the end of 2013, one or two clan 'mechs isn't exactly an "invasion".

never know might be the problem.they have a group working on clan mech and tech instead of everyone working to fix what we have now.

well there have been many a topic on this issue... but with the current state of affairs it just feels like we are so far away from that it is not even funny. there is just not enough game yet? what are we even defending? there is no faction or CW in the game yet... the rate of mech releases and maps is paltry... we defend the inner sphere with a fractional mech force of what... 18 announced mechs 11 of which are in game... at this rate the invading Clan force will consist of a MadCat, Thor, Vulture and a Puma

Im sure that PGI will get there. But not sure if they can do it on the current time scale. I dont see why they simply cant reset the time line and give themselves more time.

No extensions. They said day for day, and that is what I want to see. I could take your logic and turn it around saying they can simply advance the timeline and give me Clan mechs (Timer Wolf ;)) now.

I'm guessing you opted for the cool-aid IV-drip?

So your theory is that in order to implement the clans which are literally not even on their roadmap except for some vague statements made way back before they ran into the current ... issues .. and got horribly behind schedule, they have decided to split their small amount of resources and slow the production of the things they've actually committed to.

Seems legit.

Right. The problem is they committed to an unrealistic time scale given their abilities. That's what people are commenting on.

There is literally no way possible for them to have a clan invasion in the game when it should happen; that's why people have suggested rolling back the timeline a year (making right now 3048) to give them the time to do so.

Given that the "real" game was supposed to revolve around the Community Warfare thing, that's kind of a problem. They're going to have to do a lot of hand-waving meta wise to explain why the clans aren't involved (if we ever get the Community Warfare bit, of course. They could just not roll that out until 2014 as well)

Remember that we are mere mercs.
Clan Tech shouldnt be availible to us untill way into or even after the proper IS invasion.

Sure PGI wont make us wait 4 years but i wont expect it anytime soon.

I vote to turn back the clock a year. Theres no way they could make a clan invasion thats any good, unless somehow they get bought out by a huge company and got 10000 devs working on it 24/7
