That's all. Title says it. It fits the time period, and was a popular design in the fiction.

I'm kinda new here, so I'm just learning, but I believe this model is part of the Unseen...Mech types that were copies of copywrited material from Japan. This means they're unlikely to be used.

I'm not old enough to appreciate such an ugly mech.

That is a revised version of the phoenix hawk. The original look is much more Robotech, (because it was) so it looked a bit like a transformed aircraft. I wouldn't say it's the best looking mech among the unseen but it just offers the perfect mix of weaponry, speed and armor. It is the definitive medium mech. There may be something to say for the lithe humanoid look though. Something that they haven't shown us so far.

Have you seen the Atlas lately?

Robotech is as bad as mentioning Mechassault.

Mechassault had some pretty rad music though.

Yes the PXH would fit perfectly into the game. If we had the choice of starting in one I would definitely start there. I plan to go with the scout role but I don't want a flimsy light chassis that can't take a hit. The Phoenix Hawk's combination of speed, mobility, protection and firepower are great for the role I have in mind.

I understand the whole unseen, reseen issue at least as much as anyone else. I would love to see the unseen Phoenix Hawk, but if that is not possible, then lets see a new fd version or a new interpretation. I would hate to lose the chassis and weapon make up over how it is drawn. I would miss the unseen version as well, but lets see a new design of it as well and let th emarket decide.

I knew there would be others who shared the love for the PH. I didn't know it was part of the Japanese business.

Redesign the machine slightly, call it something else, but keep the mix of speed and the weapons loadout, and I will still pilot it.

The Atlas is not lithe (quite the opposite). Neither is the Centurion or even the Commando really.

You bring up the Unseen you bring up Robotech. There's no getting around that. I never said it should look like the original just that the original does have an interesting aesthetic.

The actual robotech version is a little bulky and clunky compared to later battletech models. I think they could redesign it easy enough. It is unfortunate that so many of the original, older machines are on the list of unseen.

What should be in is the SHD-2HB Shadow Hawk (or any of the Shadow Hawk variants really). Why you ask? I'll tell you why.

Because it looks like Cobra Commander!

I mean doesn't it just make you want to randomly scream COBRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! in the middle of battle?

That is a good mix of weapons. I'd probably drop the SRM for another MLAS though.

Nice, I liked the VF-1S though I bought the VF-1J instead. Like Hikura's red stripes more for some reason. Guess because it was in the opening.

Though I do think it's funny anyone still thinks things look like Robotech when Robotech is literally ripped off Macross. May as well get it right. Though I wouldn't mind the FanPro Hawks...just need new heads. Maybe a compromise towards the anime mechs.

I still have a couple of old Robotech toys from when I was a kid and playing TT all the time. One's a Rifleman in that olive drab, hard plastic. The other is a brown VF-1A that looks like a Stinger mech. It's made out of some sort of rubberized plastic that's held up better over the years.

it wasn't so much the Japanese, as Harmony Gold. It's still Harmony Gold, nearly thirty years later...
