Having looked at the preview of conquest mode I had an idea that would help resolve an obvious problem.
Problem: Killing becomes the highest efficency method of play for conquest. This is contrary to design of conquest where the capture objectives are nominaly supposed to be central to the match.
Solution: Expand gameplay opportunities by including a repair/rearm mechanic somehow.
Idea: For fully secured drilling rigs, allow friendly mechs to regenerate armor and internal damage as well as refill any non-destroyed ammunition. Any DESTROYED section is left destroyed, and any destroyed internal component is left destroyed, but mearly damaged systems are fixed.
This rewards players for pulling back and retreating to HELD objective points before they are signifigantly crippled. Yet it does not reward complete restoration for everything so enemy players are also afforded the choice to press the attack or return themselves for repairs.

this is actually quite a good idea!
I love game-modes like conquest, but if its the most efficient to just kill all the enemy mechs, it kinda defeats the purpose of the game mode Repair will help a lot with this!

One slight modification to this idea:
You must power down for these repair/rearm benefits. That way you can't hide in the cap point and repair the damage while fighting.
Edit: I accidentally a space.

You know, it depends on how quickly resources are pooled. If you have 3 caps, you might be able to win under 60s. If that is the case, then it will not be the most efficient to just go for directly destroying the other team.

maybe add a c-bill penalty for using it to much, other than that, at least an interessting idea, but i think we have to wait for conquest to arrive to check it out first

I don't see this happening, unfortunately. This gameplay mode seems to be a throwout to all those people who whined about MWO Assault mode being "BaseRush: Online". It will take a lot of discipline to cap in this mode rather than kill everyone, but the capping still allows for a win if the enemy team is down to a single mech that hides/just won't die.
