I just followed around an Atlas, guarding his back. I was the ONLY one on our team that stayed with him, and consequently he was the next to last person left alive on our team. Our team had killed exactly one of them. I disengaged and tried to break for the open field, not being able to fight all seven of their remaining team in my damaged 50 tonner. I hoped to get a kill before the end, but there was no way I could kill the three heavies that just smoked an Atlas. So what does my Atlas teammate, whom the forum rules protect from my identification by name, do? He dimes me out in /all chat, telling them exactly where to find me.

So my question, actually, is this:

Where. Is. My. DAMN. Screenshot. Button? It's not mapped in the options.

No screenshot button as of yet. Most of us use FRAPS to make videos or take screen shots.

You can hit "print" still, don´t forget to "CTRL+v" it into some kind of picture proggie.
Mind you, hitting print gives you this ONE picture, last one to be "print"-pressed will be available.

Mo´ screenies to the support y´all !

Ratting out a damaged solo survivor is no good style. Had that myself. Cicada, everything red, armor gone and 6 enemies near our base. Hid inside the cave on Forest and got ratted out. Had they capped the game would have been over faster than by trying to kill me. They even waited in front of the cave for their Atlas to all pound my puny behind at once! :)

If it's only one or two enemies and the survivor stands the chance of killing one of them I can at least understand why some people are doing thins, but in such cases as the OP or me described it's totally pointless...

Exactly. The other team were jerks, too. They would have gotten a lot more from capping than from the kill/assist - especially in my case, since I waxed one of the Catapults before they dragged me down.

So, the screenshot is stored in my notepad; any suggestions for a viewer program? Windows paint doesn't work, and I can't find another viewer on my computer - I'm also unable to simply paste the file to desktop. Helps!

the "PrtScn" button has not worked for me....Always just get a black screen. I use Photoshop, but I have heard good things about GIMP - http://www.gimp.org/

Apparently the 'Print Screen' button doesn't work in full screen mode.

Download fraps, theres a basic free version which is all you need anyway. Not exactly sure what the paid version gains you.
F10 is the default screenshot key in fraps but you can change it if you want.

It also allows video capture but I havn't played with that yet.

/sigh. I really didn't want to have to run a third-party program just to report people who screw me over or tell me to "pull the giant **** out of your mouth." when I suggest tactics.

But I'm sure the report system will be put in as part of the progression to live. Just annoying that some people won't behave like anything better than a badly trained dog unless force is directed against them.

Send the email anyway. If you include the time they'll be able to fetch the chat logs of the matches you played.

Same happened me on Frozen, i was last near Friendly Base, fought against Ssrm Raven, i had NO armour, internals were ORANGE/RED...i disengaged. Then my teammates wrote i should defend base! As i didnt went back they wrote in chat i where r e t a r d e d... i wrote back r u silly? :P
I mean, they didnt take care that i was fighting against enemies and left me alone (at that time they where near enough to support me), why should i help them to delay enemies cap?

Yeah, I'll happily take one for the team if it helps with the objective, but I'm not going to "throw good mechs in after bad," as some of the game material's say. If you're not able to fight, you take your mech and run - that's Battletech.

Life is cheap. Battlemechs are expensive.

If a match is 7-0 against and I think the other team is still hunting for me rather than going for the cap, I'll let them know in general chat that I've powered down and surrender and they're free to cap the base. Usually they'll leave me be so long as I'm not close by.

What your Atlas lancemate did was a low blow, and it makes him a dishonorable, vindictive scumbag... but it doesn't make him a cheater or an exploiter. He didn't break the rules of the game, so what's PGI gonna do about it?
