So they turned down the bloom?
anyway, I much prefer the new mech textures simply on the fact that they went back and rebaked/re set up smoothing groups on the mechs so as to remove those nasty shading errors that were on those first 8 or so mechs. so imo between the guy repainting the spec maps so they weren't this weird comic book dot pattern all over it, as seen in the first image, to something looking more representative of thick painted worn in metal walking tanks, and rebaking the normals, things on that side look way better.
Having said that the one thing you may have noticed is that the diffuse maps are now 1/4 of the resolution as they once were.
What will probably happen after this next patch that the dragon, awesome and hunch will no longer have 2048 diffuse maps when they get redone. Like what they did to all the other textures that have been redone to this point. they will be reduced to 1024s I bet. But it's a necessity really, their new material set up is more complex, they have all been given gloss maps and an RGB blend map, and the games vram usage is already at 1GB, which is very high considering 8v8 and some maps not really all that cluttered..
