Until a tutorial can be made another form of trainingground for new players is needed. A place where they can try movement, aiming and handling of torso and arms.
For experienced players a testingground for mechconfigs would be nice to.

I suggest make to a simple trainingground.

A map 1500x500m, plain, simple, no trees, rocks or things. Put 250, 500, 750, 1250m away a target, like a not moving and shooting mech.

This map starts for one player, gives no xp or cbills, ends after 10mins or when all targets destroyed. To reduce server needs there are only a few possible instances of this map, trial accounts should be go first in the queue and maybe there is a cbill price for using it with owned mechs.

I second this.

This could be turned into a cBill sink too. Players could pay to buy targets. Targets could have different functions and cost different amounts depending on their functionality and durability.

Have cheap targets that cost nothing, don't move, and get destroyed easily with low repair bills.
Have expensive targets that cost a lot, move like players do, take a beating, and cost a lot to repair.

This would make practicing on dumby targets something of a science, rather than a shoot to kill time option.

You like?

this has been suggested several times. i think i even put out a topic for this once, but it wasn't this detailed.

i like the idea of having some place to test your mech build and learn the finer points of how to lead your shots, manage your heat, etc... without penalizing a team that mostly wants to win.
