Solo pugs are cannon fodder for 4-man premades. Real mechwarriors only fight in 8-mans.

Solo pugs are for people that don't want to have to mess around with finding 7 other people to play.

But it happens sometimes.

Only impotent man needs 7 others to make himself feels potent again, weaklings need help from as much as 7 others. Weaklings need help, real man dont.

the point i was trying to get across has nothing to do with pugs vs premades vs partial premades or whatever, simply that apparently at a certain time this afternoon, there were no other medium mechs dropping in all of mwo

Could just be that there were an odd number of mediums. If there's 101 mediums, and you are that odd 1, you won't find a match.

This happens from time to time ... if it doesn't pop up a match within 10 seconds or so I find it usually times out. If I had to guess I think the issue could be packet loss during the match registration process that results in a timeout and so you don't get queued properly. It could also be a stuck matchmaker but or some sort of orphaning during the match making process but I lean toward an occasional queue registration issue as the most likely cause ;)
