I have seen a very slow increase in population in the game but it needs to have some growth spurts. Now I know allot of people hate MWO being compared to WOT but I am going to use something they did here. Early in the WOT they needed there population to grow. The 2 things I saw make the biggest jumps in the player base were done the same way. They went to the big gaming sights and let them offer small free things to new members that signed up through there web pages. For example for a while if you signed up through 1 sight you got 2 days premium and a free tier 2 tank. Now for a similar thing MWO could offer incentive for new players by offering something like get a free base model flee mech or something. Or could be get 2.5 million free cbills for signing up through them. I would say they could offer paint jobs or a few MC but that would not be usable to a new player as they are stuck in trial mechs. I think you would keep allot more of the new players this way as well. It seems when a new player manages to get through the trial mechs and to the real mechs they stick with it. While lots drop out before they get to the point of getting to see the customizing side of the game. I think allot more of them would still be here if they had got to see that side of the game before they left.
