Do some research on your cards relative performance before you start complaining.

I'm using an i5 quad and a 460GTX, prior to that I was on a Q6600 quad and a 460GTx. Game ran, dipped as low as 20fps, and my settings were middling to high.

thats crap the recomended settings still say 5000 series the 6570 might be 10% worse 10% better whatever like that one guy said which i kinda doubt the diff is even that high. Point is the card is well within the recomended settings and my game skips so bad its uplayable to fight scout mechs close by me. Buildings aslo flicker so there is an obvious problem and/or the game developers simply bold faced lied about what the rec specs should be.

OOOHHHHHH well that's different. There are guys on my lance with 30+ FPS in combat and lights still warp for them. I think what you're describing is the light mechs ability to take advantage of a poor netcode. No video card can help that.


You can cross check. If mediums/heavys and assaults skip then it's your card. If its just the lights...well then take a number and wait in line for retribution.

Dont take this wrong, but whoever sold you the radeon HD 6570 (probably a kid at Best Buy), needs to be fired..

"ANYONE" that says the 6570 is a good choice is wrong, it's basically a slimline Video Card, it's not even externally powered by the PSU, it draws power from the PCI-e slot... It's not good.. "PERIOD"

Yeah I have a pretty crap rig i5 quadcore 8gb RAM with an HD 5770 -- but I can run this game smoothly on HIGH and excellently on MEDIUM (thats one thing PGI did ******* well, optimize this game, at least for midrange computers). The light teleporting thing is a net issue, but a weird one... it doesn't happen with all Light Mechs, and far as I could tell the one major offender I've seen in the past few days had an average ping.

@ OP

The whole HDX5xx Series of the Radeon ( No matter which Modell) are optimized for
Workstation/HTPC/Notebook Stuff.
They are realy capable within their Limits. But they have been designt to have Two Stream Processing Units
( Two Video Encoding coding Units) and to have a low Power Consumption.
This was for the 4500 5500 6500 and the 7500 .

That the Stream Processors have quite a Punch and enable for some Gaming of Games around 3-4 Games around make it a nice add on but was NEVER a requested Design Feature on them.

They need two Stream Processor Units so that they can Accelerate Flash Command together with Video Commands at once..
so that Youtube runs on the Graphikscard provided the Browser supports it. And they do very well. And they can run Unreal3 Engine Titels very smooth but they have not enough Punch for Crysis. There you have to cancel most of the Effects to have decent Framerate. ATM PGI don't have the Buttons installed in the Graphik Options. To do that you have to follow THIS Link, and there it is EXPLAINED how to do it, that MWO will WORK with YOUR Card.

Yeah sounds like you're seeing lag and netcode problems. Even if your ping is good you will see light mechs (or any mech going over ~84kph or has a really bad ping) jump around (high ping on your side will make it worse).
But your card is also right at the minimum system requirements since the min is a AMD 5600/5700 and the 6570 is usually around the 5670 in performance. I found that the game ran better on my AMD 4870 512MB by freeing up VRAM and to a lesser degree by turning off extra processes. So when I play I turn off all my other programs (even my web browser) and run a program called gamebooster which turns off background programs. But the biggest help came from setting my windows 7 theme to windows basic. Doing that and of course turning the game settings to low could help with your flickering building problem especially if you have the 512MB version of the 6570.

The HD 6570 is just not up to minimum requirements for the game. Go here to get a good idea of how the different video cards out there stack up to each other. http://www.tomshardw...iew,3107-7.html You'll see that the 6570 is far below the recommended 5700 series.

what i was kinda getting at in the post is for this game (not gaming in general) the "recomended requirements" are less than what i have. Last time i check when you play a game with above recomended requirements it shouldnt be so choppy that it looks like ur staring into a strobe light...

when scout mechs get close to me they litteraly look like they are teleporting around on my screen like Gandalf from LOTR.
I cant and wont believe this is the way the game is supposed to look with above recomended gear running it......

I';m running it on my older system with a iCore 920 from 5 years ago.. a newer MB a 7700 series card I paid $140 for a year a go.. with 24 GB of Ram.. I get playable FPS.. It does drop into the single digits in a real busy screen situation but normally high teens to mid 20s...

Yeah I'd agree it's a little ridiculous that I get 30FPS smoothly on a 3ghz Dualcore in WinXP/DX-9 while the OP is stuttering but I guess Cryengine3 is just a lot more GPU intensive??

The GT240 does too but is the 9800GT, which means about 20% less Performance then the
"real thing" because some Shader units are deaktivated

The G92b Chip by Nvidia is build into Four Card Series:

9800GT/GTX
150 GTS
240/250GTS

And thats the reason the 8800gts is mentioned.

Don't have to tell me, got a Gainward 9800GT Goldensample.
The Goldensample says that Gainward builded with the GTX+ Chip inside....
But depending on the Drivers Nvidia supplys it is a GT or a GTX+ as sometimes
Nvidia says no you have now 7 Shade Units
and not 8 because your Card Firmware says its a GT not a GTX.
And you are not to overclock your Card anylonger... ( thanks to the Massiv Cooled Gainward provided

The Main Reason it is in the Shelf right now. I was frustrated by the Fact the Nvidia always toldme
"We got a new Card series out there, get a new one"

Two Times the Card had been nerfed by Nvidia and then later unlocked again..
everytime putting down at least 20% performance overall. And by Chance it always happened when a
New Series Hit the Market... They claimed it was a Mistake.

Why dump on his GPU? The game is CPU heavy and it is not optimized, so his GPU would not be under such heavy load to even know whether or not it is worthy.

I have a HD6950 and I get 20fps in a battle and 35 on idle...
