I'm new here.

I've read 5 pages. Conclusions:

Little talk, much "I'm smarter then you", "I'm bigger/longer fan then you"...

Few guys that acutally say something useful...

So my being smart-***: lern to listen and help ppl, before you lern to write comments. As a newbe I'm disgusted with level of hatered.

However, missiles lock using heat. This is true in todays military
and has been true since 1952. Why would a future technology be totally castrated
and rendered useless by a radar jammer?

Not true actually. Hasn't been that way for a while now. Modern missiles use a visually cropped system of rapidly refreshed video frames to track targets. And, in point of fact, even the heat tracked missiles of last century still used a heat based imaging system. That is, it compares the 2 dimensional heat signature to an array of sensors and tracks by bringing the signature back into the center of the array.

Varies by missile. Semi-actives are driven by the launching vehicle and you generally can't jam them, to much power.

Of course by the tiem you see a CWI lock, you are already screwed.
