I agree.
because it is balanced, and TAG should become the counter.

Lets hope it only punishes the AFKers and not the normal players.

Well, they are buffing TAG, as a matter of fact.

No its not..and seriousley..tag as only possibility to counter ecm?..whats about narc..or bap?..sorry but this is not even close to ´Balanced´
Three counters to a single system?
This is why the forums don't get to decide things.

You think its fair for a single system to have 1 counter while it counters everythin from lock on weapons to radar?
Excuse me, I should have said four counters. Since it currently has two due to disrupt mode (Another of those tactical rules that people love to attribute elsewhere). Yeah, that's pretty well balanced as far as EWAR comes.
Further, you're ignoring the part where paul noted that future passes will look at putting in module and weapon effect (IE: Soft) counters.
That's pretty damned balanced.
/And I still don't like the DDC having ECM.

Only Guardian Angel ECM suits stop SSRMs lock on and thats 3052 tech. Also, the ECM bubble should just make missile lock on much more difficult, rather than a black and white cannot be done.
On top of that, ECM should counter equipment like BAP, NARC, and TAG, not the other way around. For instance, say I have an LRM boat with BAP. First of all, MW:O should take a queue from MW4 where BAP makes target locks a little faster/easier. Now say I'm am trying to lock on to an ECM mech. I should still be able to acquire a missile lock, but it should take MUCH slower, say 4-5 seconds, and also be able to lose that lock much easier.
Also, in canon like I said, ECM does not effect SSRMs. Only the Guardian Angel ECM suit does that (and it is much different that the ECM we have currently in this timeline). Even then, SSRMs are able to be dumb fired like SRMs.
I would then go into how missiles are all sorts of f******* up in this game, but the topic at hand is ECM.

The main concern I've developed about ECM isn't about a "number" of counters, but how indispensable ECM has become.
Are there reasons for a K2 to not take two gauss rifles? Yes. Do you have to put autocannons in a Cataphract? No. But if you can mount a Guardian ECM, I cannot think of a single better use for those 1.5 tons and those 2 slots.

What is most likely happening is that the devs are in chat or otherwise talking with a few clans on a regular basis. This will cause the devs to direct the game in a more elitist direction and boom no more game.
It's game politics. If you can figure out who is in chat with and or allowed to talk directly to pgi staff the most you will figure out why the game is progressing as it is.
