Some Little Icon To Prevent Being Called A Freeloader?

I am new to these forums and the game, but I have a small suggestion.
A few times now, ingame, I have been spoken to in a demeaning manner, mostly by founders, because of me being, in their opinion, a trial noob and some sort of a freeloader, as such. Unworthy of being taken seriously I guess.
Now, unless you orange and blue founders have spent more money on additional MC, I have actually spent a considerable ammount more money on this game than you so far, and also more than I have spent on any game for many years now, this because I like this game and want to support it, and of course cause I want some cool mechs fast. So that attitude kinda stings to be honest, when I encounter such a thing. Understandable, right?
I know the founder thing was a one time thing in the past, but why not give everyone that has spent over an X ammount of real money on the game, a new sort of badge or indicator or something? Doesn't even have to be flashy and cool or special but to encounter this 'high horse' behaviour from people who are no better than me, but have just been around a little sooner to spend some cash on this game, that is not really nice to be honest. Not nice at all.
Some little thing could be done to show that someone has paid their dues, right? Say, the average price a mainstream game costs? if one has spent over 50 bucks, or 60 or so? Get a star as avatar picture instead of the silhouette avatar.. just like in the lobby when you're the group leader.. something. Shouldn't be too hard. You can even go with different colored stars, for certain ammounts of money spent too.
Thanks in advance for any and all input anyone has to offer.
Kind Regards,
Fred

Also you can't see someones "status" while playing, only in the post game screen and you can't chat then. There are no founder icons next to peoples name if you look at the score screen in-game (TAB key). So how exactly do you know its a founder that is trash talking to you, and how does he know you aren't a founder? Huh? Your story is full of holes.

Well I don't know about you but I have a thing called memory, which makes me remember names among other things, names that can later be found in a list that is displayed when the game ends. I look at the person that was calling me names, and I often see, he's a founder.. he saw me in a trial mech I reckon, but hey, I might just not have a mech in a category that I want to play yet..
But there is no need for that behaviour no matter if you can see people's status or not, right? Would you not agree it is not nice to mouth off to people or be vicious to them, verbally? And that helping new players is the way to getting a better challenge in your game, not calling them noobs and idiots or worse for simply not knowing all the things that you didnt know not too long ago either?
And you are right, I did not think about it properly, it would not be visible until later and not of use during gameplay, I grant you that. My bad for not thinking it all the way through. But hey even in the forums I see many people with badges lash out at non founders, so there it can still apply perhaps.
But no need to give me that attitude unless you wanna prove that it is a common thing in this community to be obnoxious to each other. I do not appreciate your particular brand of input, kind Sir. Nor do I appreciate being called a liar. I merely did not like being called names for no reason and suggested something that might help on some level, to put a bandaid on some situations.. that is all.

MadFred, while I don't think it would necessarily cut down on the elitism and douchebaggery of the players in this game or on these forums, it would be nice to reward paying members with a little acknowledgement. Certainly somebody who isn't a Founder could have already paid just as much if not more of their money on this game than any level of Founder. And just because a Founder got here first, doesn't mean he is any more valuable to the game than somebody like yourself... or even Panda, if he chooses to get his act right.
To the Elitists that plague these forums and this great game, I leave you with this...

If you have spent so much money on the game, but you are running in trial mechs, what in the Inner Sphere did you spend all that money on?

But yea, the "trial noob" stigma is hella fun to play under sometimes. Shoot, social stigma's period, (when nobody knows anything for real about anybody in a random matchup), make for entertaining moments.
Shrew 'em.. the one's who beech.

The idea is to provide an incentive for Newbies and past MechWarriors alike to make the move and join. The obstacle for me is price. I come from a time when you bought a program over the counter for £34 - 44 as a one off payment and maybe bought the odd expansion pack as it came out if you were serious. The concept of paying as you go along is completely alien to me. As a pay as you go program MWO would need to be in the £5.00 a month bracket for me.

I agree. I started playing when it was MW2... (and I played the hard to find MW1 that was on the SNES, or some kind of mechwarrior game on SNES.) I too don't understand this subscription to play a game thing. At $15 (I live in the US) for most game subscription plus the cost of the game, it's silly. $5 and they might have me. $15 and I could have saved up for another game, movie, repair to car... whatever fairly quickly.
Then again, I like this game as I can play for free... I'll be giving them money to buy more mechbays and stuff before too long, but I like that I'm not footing a bill each month for this. I have enough in bills to worry about...

Wow. Elitist much? I guess I could say a MIN/MAXing cheese build of an Atlas pilot is a whole different level of noob. Ah well. Thanks for proving the point that there are indeed idiots everywhere. You have rendered a greater service than you can probably realize.
@OP: Welcome to the game MadFred. Those who can't be polite or don't have the time to talk/show/explain anything are not worth listening to. You'll enjoy handing them their own scrapped hindquarters soon enough.

If you see me in game (I'm horrible with names) give me a shout out.

(Note my founder's tag; yet I can still barely hit the broad side of a barn. I'm my own cautionary tale!)

Did you wake up on the wrong side of bed? Looks like you are reading a bit much into my post. Which part of my post really made me look like an "elitist"? The part where I calmly pointed out that trial players are often called as "trial noobs" by others? Or the part where I pointed out that you can't see ones founder/lonewolf status in game? You are a big jerk, good day to you.
