Even with a limit, ppl will still just put the biggest engine on their mech so they can race to the retreats point as fast as they can, and get the easy cbill reward. You have to consider how ppl will abuse it.(unlike the devs) Which is why I like TDM mode, its impossible to abuse that mode.

My original presentation offered to overcome this difficulty with the 'dropship' component: it would not be a mere race to an exit, but would require the retreating team to successfully meet up with the dropship after a certain passage of time.

Here's a way to add a little more pepper: Have a fixed C-bill prize for the match that is split amongst all mechs in both teams. Every 'retreating' mech that makes it to the drop ship means a certain amount goes to the 'retreat' side, while every 'retreating' mech killed by the 'hunters' means a certain amount of money for the 'hunter' side. If all 'retreating' mechs are killed then the retreat side gets none of the extra cash and the hunters split the whole pot amongst their team. Similarly if all mechs manage to retreat the hunters get squat.
