..in a PUG. A small chance of ECM in a PUG.

I don't have a padded helmet to drown myself in the sorrow that is PUGGING.

Also, mech battles that large mean whoever gets a few kills lead snowballs the living hell out of the enemy.

Think how easy it can snowball now and we're only doing 8v8

Unfortunately most people are PUGs... therefore what effects them is more important. Why do you think they are adding 3rd person?

Assuming for a moment that this wasn't Mechwarrior. Would you be playing it? If no...

but they always lie and say they would be playing it still.

It will be a semi sad day when an exodus of the people who have and would pay into this game leave because of 3rd person lame, crap, lack of creative power devs decision.

A lack of 3rd person isn't keeping more people away than it could threaten to lose.

People cant see their pretty mech and paint scheme? That's probably more of a reason why people want 3rd person. Others want their precious pop tarting, looking around corners power back.

I would settle for 3rd person, but you can't use any of your weapons while in it.

Lock that %&^* down.

agreed, third person and you wont have to worry about seeing me here anymore, not that the fanbois care, they can keep the game going by themselves.

I don't particularly want 3rd person either. I don't need it to own people with an AC/20. I have 111k xp sitting on my Hunchback 4G (F).

But the game has much more fundamental problems. Things such as a lack of scale, poor new player experience, etc.

I mean, we have this brutal high tech getting put into the game, before they've never even given physical combat any serious consideration.

To me, collision and those mechs with melee weapons etc are more important than light mech spam ECM, null sig and anything else beyond the missile tracking systems.

We all want our Hatchetmen.
We all want out Hatamoto-Chi.

Keep the lore specific mechs as the only ones with a physical attack and MAYBE those mechs with hand actuators.

No kicking. Leave Charging out of the game.

Death from above, yes.

If someone is able to close the gap and start wailing on someone with their hatchet or samurai sword, they deserve the havoc they are about to cause to your machine.

Frankly, what you're describing has zero to do with the fancy modules and more to do with your lack of Situational Awareness.

First off, don't just run out into the middle of an open field, use cover. Structures help you survive, they aren't there to just look pretty. Also when you see red blinks on your screen, that will indicate a direction, left, right, front and back, you always have this information. ECM, etc doesn't take that away. If you're being shot in the back, you will see red squares towards the bottom of your screen, thats how you know someones at your back.

Secondly, if someone is shooting you with lasers or projectiles, that means they can see you. If, they can see you, you can see them. Thermal and Zoom are your friends if you are being sniped. Start scanning around. Don't just stand there with your thumb up your butt, MOVE, get behind cover, turn on thermal and I usually use 1 level of zoom and scan around as I move.

Yes, ECM makes life a little more challenging, but you have all the tools you need to not be a sitting duck. Try using them before blaming the game for the specific issues you are whining about. There are lots of real issues one can complain about, but being shot in the back isn't 1 of them.
