If you want to run LRMs... which are STILL VIABLE post ECM release you need to do 1 of 2 things:

1. Have a TAG and close to within the TAGs effective range. LRMs still work, the only difference now there is ECM is that quite commonly you will have to close range to use them. No more brining the rain at 900-800m, you have to move up to +180m (LRMs min effective range is 180m, any closer and the missiles will not detonate on impact, dealing no damage) and rain on the target yourself.

2. Join a clan.
You should do this anyways because with good people, good teamwork and good communication - you dont even need to use teamspeak and a mic, listening in and typing is SLOWER but still good, completely changes the way MWO plays. In a team with comms is the way it is MENT to be played.

Then you will be right.
LRMs are still viable, theyre just trickier to use now.
FYI: I have a Founders CPLT-C1 with 2x LRM15, 3 Medium Lasers, 1 TAG.

I think I've settled with the LRM15+TAG combo, specifically, 2LRM15s with 4 tons of missile ammo, 1 TAG, 1 AMS, and 3 medium lasers. It suits my distance play, and I can still lock on and do solid damage to most targets, even if they have ECM. It's just a little trickier to lock on. I've also decided to join a Steiner clan for the upcoming conquest mode, so I think I have most of my bases covered. Thanks to everyone who helped me get better, I have a feeling that I'll be back on asking more Scrub questions, but for now, see you on the battlefield! :)

Hmm... let me "redo" my post.
Most electronics and sensors, including BAP, Artemis, and even radar are countered by ECM.
DX11 hasn't been implemented yet. When it is, the game will hopefully run more efficiently, thus improving framerates. I've also heard rumors that PGI is waiting 'till DX11 is in before they start really optomizing the game. Of course, those are just rumors, nothing confirmed.

LRM boats aren't as good anymore, because ECM prevents LRM lock-on, meaning that a good portion of the enemy team is really hard to hit. Not impossible, but I wouldn't try to lead shots at above 500m.
