The word is hubris. And it's ironic that you attribute that to critics of the game. Perhaps you should address the points made instead of attacking the message and the messenger. The game isn't feature complete, greatly lacks content and is rife with bugs. Do you dispute that?
Here are some long term issues that haven't been addressed in months.
There's no in-game tutorial. No actual weapon data in the mechbay. The matchmaker is woefully inadequate. Netcode needs work. The hitboxes need work. Don't get me started on weapon balance.
According to my Greek teacher ( from like 30 years ago ) and the greek Alphabeth, its hybris. Forgive me for my faulty assumption of people knowing where the word originates from and what its spelled like in its original form, while myself not knowing the spelling people who are native english ( I am not ) have gotten used to.
I do not dispute that "The game isn't feature complete, greatly lacks content and is rife with bugs." I am just not one who cries "DOOHHHM TO MEKWORRIAZ" about it. I know its under development, thats enough for me to stay calm.
As for the other points you mentioned: no doubt ( well, cant say much bout weapons balance, I think a LOT of whats in THAT discussion simply TOTALLY misses the type of game MW:O is, and is based on twitch CoDlike FPSs...). I just come back one more time and say : Crying "DOOOOM" about it wont do anything to change this. It will actually simply make things worse. Simply because new players attracted to the game and bumping into these Boards get to read all that "DOOOOOOM" garbage being spilled out here...which may be kindof discouraging.
People who go on about badmouthing MW:O on PGIs own Forums as passionate as some well known names are doing consistently would be censored off the Boards and possibly even sued in my country for damage done to PGIs business....serious. They can be happy - but dont even realize, let alone embrace that - the fact that PGI is open enough to let all the criticism happen.

we had nearly light mechs with lagshield... the best way to stop them (in stead of figuring out how many meters away its real hitbox is) were streak sms.
now we have nearly invulnerable light mechs with lag shield and ecm, who can stop the whole enemy team without getting dmg..
so..yes..sometime i think, they have no clue, what they are doing.
Well, tbh...just chalked up a few more Cicadas on my HBK-4P. I do understand how people get the Idea of some Mechs being unhittable...I was thinking similar when I was new to the game. Then I got my mouse settings proper, got used to how Mechs operate and move ( had 0 experience with anything like that when I started with MW:O ), started reading stuff, watching players, learned what weapons and Mechtypes work well against those mechs, practiced aim-an-shoot with different Mechs and weapons...practiced it more...practiced some more...and then some...and still a bit more...and am consciously practicing it everytime I play the game , and by now...VOILA ! I can hit, and even kill them. Just because YOU cant with the Mech and weapon you are trying it with doesnt say anything about THEIR capabilities really...neither is it proove for any perceived OPness.
You know, perception is a tricky beast. You put " Unhittable Lights, unhittable Lights" in your head often enough, you will believe it, no matter what anyone says. Whats worse, you will limit your thinking and acting to a point where that Mantra becomes true for you. Sounds crazy, but it works
