his left'right torso and ammo lit up like a ******* chrismas tree blowing both arms off
OMFG you should of seen the fireworks,
two seconds later his core went up and off went the fireworks again was the best kill i ever had purely on what id just seen.not as heroic as being the last man and wining it for the team but at the time was awsome to watch.

I got a new one...
Yesterday I got into a skirmish with my atlas. I was with 2 mediums and 1 heavy, and we came up against 2 heavies, 1 medium and 1 light. In typical fashion, my escort all ran off chasing the light. At this point I'm getting gang banged. Twisting left and right to offset laser damage, firing whenever I could, I managed to take out the medium (hunchie), and a heavy (phract). I also noticed an enemy atlas coming towards me (about 600m away), hoping for an easy kill, as my armor was almost non existent. The last was putting out very little damage at this point, as he was missing several components, so I turned my attention to the atlas. I turned as his first laser volley hit, then on instinct I stopped, just as he fired his ac20, causing the shot to sail past harmlessly in front of my screen. By now he had moved into brawling range, my favourite. His next volley was lrms, and seeing him fire them at such short range, I knew I had the advantage. I pressed toward him focussing on his LT, hoping he hadn't packed a CASE. The armor dropped, as he took out my last remaining arm, and my srms. Leaving me with only the AC20. He began to move around behind me, I assume to get an easy shot at my open rear CT. I put the mech into a reverse pivot, putting his LT in perfect line of my AC, so I let loose a round. Next thing, the mech exploded as his ammo detonated (or XL engine blew).

Today I was rolling around in my HBK-4SP and i was almost red in all my remaning areas, my legs, center torso and head. I had only a small laser left, as 4MPL and 2SRM6 were long gone, I see a hunchback shut down and I run up and fire two bursts of small laser into him and he explodes. I procede to run around harrassing with a small laser and 'rack up' the damage in our way to victory.

I have a new list of satisfying kills. Just when my faith in the game is getting fickle, awesome things like these happen.

-Karma kill: My Awesome and an enemy Stalker kill each other at the same time on Frozen.
-We Have Explosive: On Caustic, I get a bit above an Atlas and hit the SRMs. The visual effects of a kill plus four component breaks are glorious. Sadly, I didn't quite survive the fight, owing in part to the other two Atlai.
-Two lag Shield-Breakers, again with the Awesome's SRMs (I sense a pattern.) Just semi-blind shots that instantly killed Streak Ravens. This would have been three, but a friendly Hunchback stepped into the line of fire and got instantly gibbed. >.<
-No Hax Required: Another session on Frozen, this time seeing the Purple Awesome dart (if moving at 61kph can be called darting) in and out of buildings to engage a medium laser boating Dragon that was shooting up a friendly Stalker. I run him down and gun him down, and his immediate reaction was "hacks" - yes, he accused me of running a godmode. After that, I dismantled his Stalker buddy, but then something sad happened: I ran out of SRM ammo, and the arm lasers weren't enough for me to finish an Atlas.

And then, the most recent kill. There's a full story to this. It was Frozen Assault, our team on Gamma-side, me in my JR7-K, which is as purple as the Awesome. I scout tunnel, find tunnel clear, and then keep recon-spot on a CTF (2 ERPPC + Gauss) and begging friendlies to toss LRMs at it. No dice, and in fact he ended up spotting me. I poke at it a couple times and run back to friendly lines.

There's a big snowball (not really a furball) on our side of the dropship, and I dart in and out, poking at things. We get an Atlas down, and the CTF I'd first spotted... and then I realised that that was it: I was alone, being looked at by far too many red triangles. So I poke them a bit more and then run hell-for-leather into the tunnel. For some reason, neither the ECM Streak Raven, nor the Spider, chase me. One of the enemies says "tunnel" in all chat, followed by:
"that jenner"
"is stalling the game"
"sigh"
As I buzz their base while they're capping. Oddly, only two are, because the cap speed is too slow for six. So running the edge of the map, along the sigma to theta line, I type out, "Y'all have two lights, with ECM. Come find me."

Continuing along the outer edge, I find the Spider... about as beat up as I am at this point, and I'm internal CT and orange internal RL. Not so good. But he engages me... alone... and I clip off one of his legs while he's jumping... and then the other. Allchat bursts out laughing and giving me Kirby emotes for this kill... and then the Raven (who is also not in good shape) finds me. Before we can decide that one, though, the cap finishes.

My favorite kill(s) were either the ones I pulled against 3 Atlas in a Jenner back in Closed Beta when collisions were still in to stop a cap and secure the win:

Followed closely by an almost instant triple kill in my CTF-1X on Caustic on the 4 line. Had been dueling with a 4P and a K2, and when an Atlas (had no idea how much damage he had taken) rounds the corner of the rocks near F4. I maxed the throttle, fired 2 LL's onto the already exposed right torso of the K2 and dropped him, 2 more into the center torso of the Atlas and happily saw him die, and finished the 4P by literally running through him for the kill. It all happened in 5-7 seconds and oh how I wish I had been recording.

I shall NEVER forget mine. I was in my Hunch 4G, with a guass and 3 med lasers. I started the match on the high hill in forest colony. Later in the match, I started tracking a raven 3L, and I wanted to find out where he was. I went to the hills near the river and peeked over the edge into the river area. I knew the raven was on the other side of this hill, but I saw a dragon near one of those rock pillar things, and tried shooting it quickly with my guass instead. Right as I shot, that raven was walking up that hill straight at me and took that guass right in the face. There was not just sparks, there were fireworks.

Sorry, have to share a second.

I was brawling with an atlas in my atlas, and then went on to take on a illya muromets. Shockingly, I was still alive but my armor was nearly gone. I didnt notice, but there was a spider with 2 mg's and a med laser firing at my back the whole time. I immediately turned left and saw the smug little ******, and shot off 2 artemis srm 6's. The sound effect itself is unmatched. All its components being destroyed in unison. Pure music.

So, I was rolling in my Stalker once on Frozen City Day in a config that had 4 Medium Lasers and 2 ERPPCs. I get half my weapons blown off, because that's what happens when you're in a Stalker, you know? One of your side torsos goes and takes your arm off with it. Anyway, I lose half my weapons... but I don't get finished off. And then I see an Awesome hanging around the flanks trying to snipe at the members of my team who have all their weapons. I start leaning in and out of cover, always smacking him with a shot when he tries to shoot. He ducks out of sight for a few moments, so I start trying to link up with my team, and I see him. We're both out in the open, each facing one another. I panic and fire off a shot into his CT and it takes him out. Moral of the story, don't leave a Stalker half-zombied.

Another really satisfying kill was actually a really satisfying doublekill. I'm looking at a Catapult with an Atlas behind him, in that same Stalker build mentioned above. I'm torn to pieces and about to die at any moment, so I fire off my Medium Lasers. The first part of their duration kills the Catapult, who falls out of the way, and then they go straight on and take out that Atlas. And then I died. But I was smiling so hard I didn't care.

Caustic: Was in my DDC, planted a killing AC20 round to the back of Garth's Cicada.

River City: Went 1vs1 in my Dragon against a DDC (Boating SRM6's and two Ultra5's) came out missing an arm and mostly red/orange but no other external breach.

Edit: Should also mention that Garth wasn't on my team :D

River City. I had just started using the Stalker (a switch from the Cicada, so i wasn't really used to the slowness). I stayed in the upper base to support my friends with LRM's. Managed to pop one mech during this, but my team brawling in the river got owned and finally leaving me a sole survivor. During the fight they managed to get another mech down, so it was 6 vs me, and I thought "I'm soo dead".

But the other guys, so eager to pop that last enemy, rushed for my base one by one, lights first, assault last, and they all came the same way (the ramp right next to the base). They were somewhat hurt when they arrived so I just stood there, popping one after the other with my dual Large Lasers (I had plenty LRM's but no space to use them on). I felt like a god of war, killing among them a Centurion, Hunchback and a Atlas.

Last came another Stalker, almost unhurt, while I had taken a beating. Both slow as we were we decided to stay still against eachother, 20m apart, and with the same weapon setup we started to exchange fire with our dual LL's. It was like an old bad western duel. I saw my armor melt away, and my internals change color faster than his, so again I thought that this is it. 6 Kills, not too bad.

But all of a sudden he shut down. He overheated! Holy cow, I continued to fire my LL's, kept my heat in check, and managed to catch up on the damage. When he powered up again we wera equal, and I mean both red all over. He fired, I turned dark red, I fired, he turned dark red. The next one or two shots would be the killing blow, and it was his turn....

He overheated again! Seconds later Booom, he is down.

I jumped up from my chair and yelled "Hell yeah" in RL that moment. It was awesome fun, the whole match, but that final duel was over the top. Got 7 kills that time, and that's my personal best.

It was back in CB, when Jenners were fotm, and I had my hbk-4g. On river city a jenner was capping our base (the one by the dropship), when he got spooked by a team mate back in my direction (upper city). Relaying the lock off my friend, I predicted when he would show his face from behind the dropship, fired my AC/20 early and watched it arc into his cockpit as he rounded the corner. Backflip. Feltgoodman.

*this is the first of my epic kills and so the most vivid in my memory, I probably pulled off more epic ones than that.

Legged running scout with 4xAC5 alphastrike then finished those limping suckers with some shots in the face. Repeated that 3 times in a row (!!!). Even though I think someone from my team was fast enough to steal one of those raven-kills (because I got actually only 2 kills on my account from that drop), it felt like a real holiday :D

Second place in that nomination - all those centurions I've headshotted on the run with autocannons. I just love shooting that cockpit sticking out in the open. The only bad thing about centurion - there is no neon "shoot here" sign on top of its head :D

Frozen City Night.

I was in the Atlas DDC with ecm, since I wanted a slight change of pace from my Awesome. Me, with my slow mech, trudged along the snow-covered city while trying to catch up to a fight near where Theta would have been. Another mech trailed not too far behind from me, and we made our way down the valley in strenous effort to join the raging fight ahead. In the midst of this perilous travel, my ally encountered an ambush by a Dragon, a centurion, and a Stalker from behind. While fighting heroically and damaging the three mechs, he was shortly killed in action. I turned around to assist too late before they got him, and they quickly bared their fangs at me.

Immediately firing my two large lasers for the opening salvo, I honed in all my weapons at the stalker first, blasting its center with my AC20 and my 3 Artemis srm6's. Ignoring the other two mechs, my concentrated fire managed to core the stalker quickly, neutralizing the target while I then backpedaled towards the derelict ship nearby - twisting and narrowing my profile to try and cover my flanks. The two enemy mechs quickly circled around me, blasting me under heavy fire while I continued to keep my weapon fire consistent at the two, hearing the blaring sirens of my heat sinks nudging towards overheating. This continued on for a while, this game of cat and mouse until one of the mechs, a Dragon I believe, came close enough for a guaranteed Alpha strike, and I immediately blasted its side with the full onslaught of my arsenal.

His left arm was sent sprawling into the air, half of his armament destroyed in the process while my srms tore through the exposed interior, bringing down the target with a satisfying explosion.

All that was left was the centurion, which continued to pepper me with its medium lasers and his LBX10 in further desperation. I can hear more alarms going off, the critical damage screen flashing in front of my HUD while over half of my Atlas's armor is destroyed, exposing the vulnerable circuits underneath it. I returned fire quickly, but the centurion managed to damage my AC20, rendering its mighty damage useless in the process. Just as I find myself suppressed and nearing destruction, a friendly ally came forth to assist, drawing some fire away from me while the centurion whirled about in confusion, realizing his predicament in the fight. I can sense that he wanted to take me down with him, concentrating more fire upon my heavily damaged Atlas.

But I refused to let him succeed. My cockpit shook and rumbled from the AC he spewed out, but as he turned the corner to try and get behind my back for that final kill, I twisted the opposite way, allowing him to see the full frontal view of the Atlas in all its glory.
And at such range -- I blasted him with all my srms and lasers. landing a fatal blow to his chest, blasting away what remained of his armor and destroying his engine in the process.

I lowered my weapon, the remains of his mech sprawled against the snow-covered ground. Heavily damaged and with the siren still going off in the cockpit, I could only sit back and breathe a sigh of relief.

There was one remaining enemy mech left not too far away, in a separate fight with the remainder of my team, but for now...
The battle agains three mechs, and emerging victorious out of it was enough for me to stand down, and let my team finish the job while I bathe in the afterglow of surviving that encounter.

I killed 3 n00b builds in one match (AC20pult, SRMpult, or Streakpult)! Any 3L kill is very satisfying with the lagshield greatly reduced!

River City.

Standing in the river in my Atlas having a long range battle with another Atlas when I start taking fire from the side.

Turn around to find a Hunchback standing on the river bank about 20m away so I Alphastrike (AC10, 2xSRM6, 2xML).

I can only guess I hit some ammo as it was mech pieces all over the city.

Not sure who it surprised more - me or him

this situation is amongst my best memories so far:

frozen city. running my CN9D... fighting here and there, damaging a few mechs, backing up blabla..usual buisness...

teammate calls for help, he has some lights at the cave... "okay" i say and run into the cave... i get around the first corner, a damaged commando appears. instinctly i hold my reticle at him and press the LB10/X trigger...BOOOM! commando bursts, metal splatters all across the cave...no enemy detected anymore, done...

i keep on running, taking a quick look behind me...just the smoking remainings of the poor little guy... i run around the next corner... hunchback! pretty damaged, but still all weapons online... i kick out an alphastrike, 2 medium pulse laser, 2 ssrm´2´s and my LB10/x impact on him, tearing apart of what is left of him... probably an engine kill, no time to make sure ... i keep running

i get to the exit, where i see my teammate die, killed by a raven the moment i get to him..too late, i can hear the disrupted scream in the coms... my eyes become narrow slits, i aim carefully, give the raven my 2 MPLS´s and my LB10/X, he turns at me, i surpass him...i turn around and see he has trouble turning, he ran into the cavewall... i disintegrate his back armor, and the underlying internals... the raven stops in it´s move, and falls down...

outside the cave someone destroys the last remaining enemy... victory, the frozen city is cleaned of enemies...contract complied...

(gosh i really wish i had that one on fraps :) )
