I think the thing that is going to prevent conquest from becoming a death match mode is the potential pay out. With the changes to the economy we don't know how much c-bills you will earn from an assault match, which could turn conquest into the c-bill making game mode. A quote from the Conquest description giving on the main site.

Conquest mode said:

If two teams play out via resource collection, and one team has 750 resources and the other has 480 resources, the first team earns 18,750 C-Bills and the second earns 12,000 C-Bills.

ok so they added a new way to play out assaults and cap-flag... is there any way that there will be an actual game? like that plays along the story line of mechwarrior picking up in like 3067 or something? is there going to be any sort of game mode that will include npc's and objectives like inspecting cargo/convoy raid? any sort of escort objectives? will the clan element be introduced at any point? i have many questions as to what direction the game will take? is it going to end up just a mash up of battles like cod or modern warfart? no offence, im just hoping for some depth when im playing a game. i love mechwarrior games with a passion, im just hoping for the best is all. the gameplay in mission is coming along well, is there going to be a co operative campain mode? basically, im hoping theres going to be more to this game than just another version of wot.

I've noticed people just kill each other still. Seems to be no different from assault.

Try playing it with a team, you'll see how fun it can be, although Bazar is a little too small for Missile Barrage imo.

@Topic:

Several points capture without re-spawn and this mapsize/cap-speed does not really work unfortunately, but hey, at least we finally have death match :)

A free for all respawn doesn't make sense in this game as it stands, it's not designed for that. Having to choose to spend resources to respawn players would introduce balance on whether to respawn someone or continue to collect resources for the win.

Free respawns would wreck this game, there has to be a cost involved to balance it.

also, I would want the respawn on a timer with a drop ship animation to go along with the reinforcements, so there is a visual clue involved that the other team has chosen to buy respawns.


yeah I think it would really be great to start adding dropships and other elements of the mech universe into the gameplay. dropships are an excellent place to start, maybe add some aerotech, maybe a space mission or a low grav environment, why not, they have high and low heat environments, just sayin...

Biggest single difference between Assault and Conquest: You actually have to move, and possibly divide your forces.

In assault mode, if you decide to turtle with your whole team, not too far from your base.. or in it.. you can get away with that.

Do that in Conquest and see what happens.
