Dragons and Catapults do share the Big CT, Little L/RT situation, which favors XL engines and torso-mounted ballistic weapons... but Dragons don't get torso-mounted ballistic weapons... also, having to rely on SRM4s or SSRM2s as your "zombie" weapons isn't the best option because that requires the investment of at least 2.5 tons to get a single backup weapon , whereas a single medium laser backup (or even dual MLs) weigh less than that and require no ammo. Heck, the only way a Dragon can use its Zombie Weapons when Zombified is if they store ammo in the Legs or head (not ideal).

I use both, and like both. I get get nearly equal results in both, but it definitely takes a bit of learning curve to transition between the two. They both play very differently so you have to change your tactical mindset when using either. It can take me a few games of each to get properly re-oriented.

I will say it took me a lot longer to figure out the Dragon than the Cataphract, but that could just be due to my general inexperience when first using them. My 1C is usually decked out with 4 LL (2 in torso, 2 in left arm), leaving the right arm as cannon fodder. Please, attack my right arm.

With the Cataphract I practice hiding and leading ballistics, with the Dragon I practice holding pin-point accuracy during strafing runs.
