I suddenly don't feel so bad about the one team kill I've got. I still to this day don't know how it happened, who I hit, or how I hit them.

I do still feel like an ***** when, on the day ECM was released, I stumbled upon what I thought was an enemy Awesome and opened fire. I knew something was wrong when he just turned around and looked at me. Then he said, "What are you doing you Moron". My first exposure to ECM didn't go well.

This was beautifully written. I'm saving it to a word doc to read later.

We all have those days. My Record for TKing in a single match was four mechs. My screen had all but blacked out (this was during the time when missile impacts could render your screen almost pitch black) and rather than switch to night, heat and then back to normal to clear it, I figured that I didn't have time. Someone or something was shooting infront of me, and I was taking damage that much was very clear to see. So I opened up with an alpha. Point Blank into a mech. The guy must have been pretty wounded already, as I was in my 1C dragon which has 2 LLs, 2 MLs and a SRM6. Next thing I know I see the TK penalty. I was screaming "NOOOOOOOOOO" when I did it.

Next TK was a jenner, that out of nowhere ran up from behind me, up a hill to shoot an enemy Fatlas in the back, apparently I head shot him or something I'm not entirely sure what happened, I had a completely clear shot, the screen was okay (after the Awesome incident I made damned sure to clear the bug the best I could) then suddenly at the start of my alpha. there was Jenner... and then Dead Jenner.

Third, was a hunch back, who apparently figured I was out to TPK the entire group. At this point honestly I probably should have just stood and took it to death, but ignored him kept moving, and had another shot at the same Fatlas I had tried to kill earlier. the ***** hunch back waltzed right back infront of me, and I hit him in one of his wounded side torsos, apparently he had an XL engine because he popped.

Fourth was myself, as I had just come off an over heat (I couldn't afford the DHS yet) and the alpha popped me.

It was by far the most shameful performance I had ever mustered in a pvp game of any flavor. And still has been to date. I blame, drinking, the missile makes your screen black bug, and just horrible timing.

And so it was that
I had locked the foe Catapult
That was when a friendly slew it
But that was when he crossed my path

And so it was that thirty six missiles blew his rear.

...I mean really, enemy K2, 100m away, then next thing I know, a friendly K2 walks in the middle through a bunch of smoke and I kill him instead. ;;
Applying FP90 to friendly fire is NOT my idea of fun people.

Ouch... that's quite a few missiles.

I'm glad you all liked the post. I was in the middle of drowning in all the RNR posts (why was I reading all of them? WHY!?) when I was suddenly struck with inspiration. Thanks for the compliments and shared TK stories!

I get satisfaction when I alpha a teammate in the back because they decided to walk between a srm cat and his target. If I'm chaining srms, i don't stop firing for idiots who can't see clouds of srms.

Do not come between a Nazgul, er, I mean a splatcat and its prey.

Great job on the poem!

I had the same experience with a Cicada today. I sneaked up behind a DDC with my AC20Cat, in full preparation of ending the ECM Reign of Terror. Then as soon as i press the alpha or "adios 40pts of armor" button the Cicada lag appeared! Idk if i was more mad about the TK or i had wasted TWO(2) of my precious AC20 rounds... :)

A cautionary tale about how friendly fire isn't. Well done.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Once you've fired, there's really nothing you can do if a friendly decides to step out in front of your salvo except sit back and watch the fireworks.
