Whats with a large number of founders acting like players are suddenly not going to care if they win or lose?

Honestly the removal of repair and rearm will actually INCREASE the skill level of play as people aren't looking out for number one all the time and avoiding fights because they are afraid to lose.

I played in an eight man group a few days ago where an atlas pilot was 'crying' because he died defending the base whilst we all returned to kill the capping team.

his words were "I'm not playing with this group again if I have to sacrifice myself so we can win."

and it was just like... What the hell you giant baby.

The problem is when you take into account R+R with atlases he actually had a point.

We only won the match because of his sacrifice but due to the way rewards and repair was setup his mech getting shot to peices as he torso twisted and ensured his survival for as long as possible meant he lost money despite securing us the win.

That was and is stupid.

The new reward system and the removal R+R is a great thing.

Players will no longer have as much incentive to be selfish because of this.

Team work will get a boost in this regard.

8 Man groups will not have an excuse for dropping to 4 man for money because that wont be a huge issue now. This is good change across the board.

Because golds are fanboys, and fanboys want it a certain way. They feel this is a betrayal of their illusions of real man's battletech, where we're all mercs in community warfare, and there are roles and heat discipline, and machineguns crit-seek.

Oh god, every time I heard people trying to say machine guns were good because of crits I just winced.

Some people really do understand nothing about how the game mechanics work in MWO. I mean sure the devs haven't been very transparent with what should be explained from the get go but even so.

It's not about understanding, but your dreamland versus reality. Some people perceive that an iphone is god's gift to mankind. Others realize it's just a smartphone. But these people who think the iphone has magical powers will keep arguing for it, and there's nothing you can really do about it, except sort the people themselves into folders for avoidance.

Like golds in this game.

Did you know this game is about battletech, and we're all really hardcore mercs playing roles, and it's not about DPS fests with a heat meter that serves like a warcraft mana bar? Did you know that run hot or die was a very bad tournament, that showcased how broken the system was, and made many of us blush bright red?

even if you accept their arguments on their face they don't make sense.

What kind of military force doesn't pay it's mercs enough to rearm their selves after each fight.

I mean ideally the military force WANTS those mercenaries to continue to be able to fight for them right?

What you WANT to be is more important than what makes sense and is real. It's a basic principle of relationships.

Pff assuming I don't run multiple pcs side by side to do both.

After all this is a tactical sim, I have plenty of time during matches to type. (I'm being full of **** here D: ......)

I don't know honestly, it's odd seeing how people interpretations of the game vary so wildly simply because of their expectations.

I really don't like the use of the term "Gold" used in a blanket-prejudicial manner. It's becoming an insult term.

If it's used as a prejudicial insult term, it will be treated as one. Please try to keep civil and polite.

yes because the new player experience was fantastic AND NOW ITS RUINED.

Also NO R+R Means suddenly every one will play like a gibbering monkey BECAUSE NO CONSEQUENCES.

Excuse me while i face roll into my keyboard.

rbhgyu adbguhfgh 98gh g0rhgdfhg08 hgw0e8 ghrg.
my guess is the founders saying these kind of things don't actually enjoy the game.

The only satisfaction they felt is when they gained more c-bills.

Me the fun is in proving my skill in game.

in helping my team achieve victory whether through my piloting or in 8 mans my commands.

In helping team mates to build their mech as effectively as they could despite their c-bill limitations.

Mech builds are going to become better.

People are going to be trying to fight harder BECAUSE they don't lose money now.

The quality of the gameplay will RISE because people wont be afraid to get damaged.

If you think that this makes me delusional then your brain is broken and you should see a neurologist.

Not all golds.
I happen to approve of the change in theory, as with most changes I'd prefer to see it in practice to pass real judgment.

It's, like, 3 am, and I'm celebrating PGI's newfound common sense by taking shots.
