Since placement of ECM changed, I have this now, every crit space filled!

Ive been leary of dropping armor. I like how this thing is a tank and I have a tendency to go head on into battle.

Well, just popped for a DC-C and I'm running it with
2 UAC/5s
2 LLas
3 SSRM2s
ECM
no AMS
Stock motor, stock structure, DHS Heat's 1.21 so it's pretty manageable. I've been running a K with gauss, 3 LLas, 1 SRM6/artemis (Artemis is left over from an LRM10 and didn't feel like spending to pull it)
Just a few matches under it's belt, so I still suck with it...but I've done a lot of UAC/5 shooting so the weapon's comfortable for me. 5 kills 2 deaths, not a ton of damage but they have been short matches so I'll see...

will this ECM/BAP Atlas work in the battlefield?
AS7-D-DC
D-DC long range support only not for close quater brawling
need some Medium mechs to cover it from light mech attacks while providing ECM bubble cover
but have the punch in long range with the volleys of A-LRMs and the Gauss for direct hits
using ECM as cover, fire the gauss from a ridge or vantage point when the enemy takes cover paint the enemy with TAG + BAP and lob the LRMs

I don't really like the DDC, but this sorta kinda works: 2xERLLAS, AC20, 3xSSRM2, ECM, ES, 350STD.

ER LL overheats the mech
since you are going close quarter combat go for the LL
AS7-D-DC
A-SRM6 works like the 3xSSRM

No. SRM6 is terrible at coring lights, if I manage to hit them at all. Large lasers allow people to PPC my Atlas to death from long range. My build is based on the idea of firing its lasers and AC20 without pause, using the missiles as bug repellent/secondary weapon/alpha increase. In certain situations, the ERs add a salvo or two before I start to receive fire, including very easy tracing of any fast target in sight.

I've seen a few of these around to great effect. AS7-D-DC
I like this build too. Only difference would be to move the SRM ammo to the arms. While it does present a risk to lose ammo with a perfectly good weapon, the chance of getting an ammo explosion is too high with 3 crits in one torso. Especially since it also contains the ECM in the same torso. Most people don't hit arms unless you're torso twisting a lot between alpha's.
