Can stick an AC/20 in the shoulder of the Flame, but not in the right arm of Fang.

Edit: and the engine limit is 360 I believe.

which variant though? I can't seem to able to fit everything of the main one.

ah i was also reading it as it had 2 ER PPCs when its only one, no wonder I couldnt fit everything... Btw do i just leave out the ballistic hard point?

Am I the only one alternating their flame between AC20 with 300 STD and treating it like a 1C with all the energy hard points in the arms?

I dropped to the SRM6 build, and it works wonders.

Skip the ballistic. One ERPPC does great with the 3XML and SRM6

You have to run DHS. With 17 total DHS, you can fire pretty steadily and cap out your armor on torsos, arms etc.

The only issue is that XL does kill you pretty easily in a DRG. Side torsos seem so vulnerable for some reason.

I think that's just you Lanessar, I very very rarely die from side torso destruction and then usually after I've lost both arms.

Yeah it's pretty unlikely to get your side torso taken out in a Dragon... it's the only mech I run an XL with. It's CT is HUUUGE compared to its tiny little rectangle side torsos.

Flame was always a brawler in basic design. The way ECM is implemented, you gain more by switching to dumb-fire SRMs than using LRMs, at least as far as the damage charts. If you truly want to, LRM 10's are within reach. Just have to upgrade to an XL engine, or drop 2 heat sinks.

I bought flame (I havent played dragon since the closed beta) and it is pretty awesome.) I immediately bought a 1c because I forgot how fun they are to drive. I find that my center torso always goes before my side torso, so the XL is a no brainer, especially with 0 repair. It is squisher than my Cataphrach and Fatter than my Catapults, but It is a fun mech (like a large centurion.) When everyone is doing their stalkers, Ill stick to dragons.

I think the Flame is one cool mech. Like others on this thread I wanted a grand dragon. When I saw dragon hero mech in the patch notes I crossed my fingers.

I picked up both.

And I like them alot.

Flame right now I turned into a Line mech.

it's a damn good brawler.

On Fang I went slightly different

13 DHS
87 KPH

LRG Pulse laser
LB10-X - 2 tons of ammo
x2 Sm lasers
SRM6 - 1 ton of ammo

Both are fun.
