If they didn't work well, nobody would use them.

If they worked well, then Light 'mechs would completely ruin your day (more than now), as they have the speed to break off from combat and go repair, whereas if you're getting taken down by them, then you do not have the speed to escape.

In the current 15 minute game mode? No.
In a game mode with huge maps and respawn. Yes.

Re arm (Meaning refill on ammo ams and like that) I would not have a problem with so long as it cost Cbills. That way it makes it a gamble....you can carry less ammo to get that one more med laser or heatsink but you have to pay to field rearm.

I think there should be a healer class that shoots you full of nano-whatevers and heals your mech on the battlefield and then gives you a good luck lollipop...

lol. Are you sure you feel that way about repair bays? I don't think you oppose it enough.

I would like to mention that Paul was once as vehemently against 3pv and changed his mind. Just a thought.

sure.
i like the idea if...
the maps where 4 times as large
the teams consist of a full deployed company (24 mechs)
and...
oh, i forgot this will never happen.
but if we get new map with this i´ll click the "i like" button.
(hmmm... ;) new maps)
hopeless post i presume.

I would only consider it okay if the missions were several hours long battling across kilometers of territory and by capturing an actual functioning base you could power down your mech for 15 minutes and have a hasty partial repair and reload. Slap on some armor patches(no internal structure or equipment repairs), load up the ammo, and kick the mech out.

Despite what you saw in MW3, Mech Commander, or any other BT-based video game, repairing 'Mechs during a battle is highly unlikely. Repairing any given 'mech takes the right parts, the right technicians, and time to complete. This is not something that would be done in 30 seconds or less. Not even 30 minutes or less. Also, this just introduces idiotic play and it will introduce some broken loadouts, like LRM boats with large energy weapons as well, and ridiculous numbers of heatsinks because they'll only need 1 ton of ammo. Run out of ammo? No problem, I'll just visit the repair bay. Also, you'll likely see ECM lights camping the repair bays to kill your busted up POS 'mechs anyway. Overall it wouldn't add anything of value to game play, and thus there is no point in including repair bays.
