I'm guessing that they toned down the ECM no-lock ability. Now you can only have one enemy Mech unable to lock streaks or LRMs on an ECM Mech in Disrupt.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say:
With PGI saying it will FULLY counter the closet mech it means that the closest mechs radar will be all wonky, will not be able to target AND see friendlys blue arrows along with enemies red arrows on top of their mechs.
A player that is farther away might be able to see the arrows above the mechs but the mini map and lock ons might not be possible and as a mech gets further away those negatives will slowly fade away.
That to me makes sense.

This is how I interpreted it:
Before all enemy mechs within your ECM bubble we unable to use missile locks at all and had sever targeting issues.
Now only the mech closest to ECM has those issues.
I will know if I'm wrong within the hour.

well now I'm confused on the wording of this as well... when I first read it I thought it meant that your ECM will only counter (when in counter mode) the closest enemy ECM

ECM has two modes. Counter and Disrupt.
* ECM will now fully counter only the closest enemy Mech
If they were talking about disrupt mode don't you think they would have said disrupt instead of counter?
