After doing some digging, I found three variables that have significant impact to audio capability, and have doubled the default values. The amount of active sounds are noticeable, and Betty's stuttering has been significantly reduced. I put this is my user.cfg file.
s_StreamBufferSize = 262144
s_ADPCMDecoders = 64
s_MaxChannels=128
The s_StreamBufferSize may or may not do anything in the context of MWO (it's for fmod streams), but it was brought up before so I decided to keep it. The s_ADPCMDecoders variable definitely has an effect on Betty's fluidity. The s_MaxChannels variable helps to keep more sounds playing.

Making this change has improved immersion by a noticeable magnitude. It's still not perfect, though. Based on the fact that I just doubled the defaults makes me think there is some serious inefficiency going on in the client. A single laser might take its own channel, as does any footstep sound, launcher sound, etc and in a game like this, that can add up fast.

Try it out, it might work for you too.

Before I try this, does anyone else has tried it and saw an improvement?

Because, It's not game braking, but still very annoying when It happen.

Don't worry PGI, I wont quit the game for that and know a fix will see the sunlight someday :)

I've been having crackle in my left channel since Betty was added too. Doesn't matter what output I use, and it most certainly is not my hardware. I've used analog headphones -3 different pairs, analog 2.1 setup, and digital (optical out) and they all have same crackle/buzz/fizz in left channel. Really hoping this gets addressed soon... I'm kinda fanatical about audio and this is really starting to get to me.

Getting complete sound cut-outs on on both headphones and speakers after the most recent patch. Before the patch, it was just the typical crackle from the mech's footsteps, which I paid no mind considering it didn't actually affect the overall experience. Complete cutting out of sound, however, does.

Equipment:

Creative X-Fi Titanium HD
Fischer Audio FA-003 headphones
Yamaha HTiB using SPDIF out from Titanium HD.
