For lack of a better term.
It seems to effect some things and not others. For example on my Cat I've got 2 ML on groups one and two. I fire either and it's fine. On my Hunchback I have the AC on group two. Fire and sometimes it fires, sometimes it takes a second to fire, sometimes it doesn't fire at all. Kinda hard to hit stuff that way.
Zoom is another one. Just standard zoom. Sometimes I hit it and I get zoom. Sometimes it takes a second and again sometimes I get nothing.
Is this just the weird lag we've had forever where it seems to be moving around or is it new? It just seems worse.
Don't know if it's related but I saw there was a know issue of lag and rubberbanding. Is this one of the symptoms? I've noticed I also stutter often; I'll go forward then be back 10 meters, sometimes I'll snap forward again, other times not.
I have an average in game ping of 50.

A lot of that is due to a server-centric model.
Laser fire is handled by your client, and seems to be instantaneous. But ballistic fire is handled server-side, so when you fire an AC there will be a delay from when you press the button to when you actually fire.
It's something that's been discussed endlessly, and the devs are working on improving it.

Oh I recall that part, it's the zoom on top of it that's got me scratching my head. Nothing server about that yet there's a terrible delay when I hit it. Sometimes I think I didn't hit it, hit it again and next thing I know I'm fighting with the damn zoom distance in the middle of a fight.

I too have this problem. I actually just started having this problem after the last patch. Before then the only time I'd have the input delay was during unusually high ping times. The fact that the zoom problem exists leads me to believe it's more than just the server issue contributing to both. I've also noticed that my night vision and battlemap can be delayed as well.

Yeah, I just noticed this happening to me for the first time yesterday. Ballistic fire delay is nothing new, but it never was this extreme or variable - sometimes it'd be almost a second, sometimes instantaneous, and without my ping ever breaking 100. And the new zoom delay too, which is really confusing. Something new is going on.

I can chime in with my support on this one. In the last few days ive certainly noticed it. I am in Canada with a really good internet package, so my ping tends to be around the 20ms range. In the past i've noticed the occassional lag when firing a ballistic weapon... say a second tops. In recent matches, I have seen it take 5-10 seconds between trigger press and my gauss rifle firing... that... is hard to deal with. Oddly though, it seems to be match related, not ping related. I finish a match and it seems to be fine for four or five matches, then presto, the horrid input lag is back.
Dont get it on zooming though, but I use the advanced zoom module most often.
