This fire support build is SO much fun! :D

In the end of turn it was 4-7, I was the only one alive. Standing on our base. :)

1.06 heat eff with 21 double heat sinks (basic unlocked now, no idea if heat eff was same on this round)

6x Large Laser

First round, with no pilot exp.

Even more hilarious in premade/VOIP party where you can focus that laser fest...

I opted for 4LL and 2 Pulse middle lasers for close range, since they are superior to middle lasers.
Most often I found out that alpha is more devastating at close range (150-200m).
I can alpha twice in a row, or 3 times every 20 seconds. Fire discipline is required.
when you alpha with your 6 LL, how much heat do you generate?

That's impressive, I went up against one that seemed to have 4-5 LLs. I ate his face and then proceeded to chew up and spit out an other Ilya Mourmets. I'm running a highly customized Dakkapharact (4X). 2xAC5 and 2xuAC5. I chewed them up real good. Even on frozen city, once I pressed him hard enough he overheated and well, the rest is history. Of course, the Dakkapharact has weaknesses (which means that I do end up having some rather embarassing deaths), but against assaults, especially slow pokes like this one, it's a death sentence for my opponent, unless they have backup to force me to break off my assault.

I'm wondering if you can customize it to a degree where heat becomes less of an issue and you can apply more firepower than the stock ones allow for. Alpha strikes are awesome, but 20 seconds of downtime to flush the heat is all a Dakka like mine needs to scrap this 196DPS monster. If there is a way to manage the heat I would be really intrested in getting one. Guess it's time to do some R&D on my behalf lol.

Re-checked this. It's around 60%, but you cool really fast.

I think you can not install 21 Double HS!!!

empty Stalker STK-3F with STD285 has 27 \ 78 slots = 51 slots
6 large lasers occupy 6 x 2 = 12 slots ...
you have Endo Steel (because without Endo Steel 21 radiator will not fit in weight) = 14 slots
21 Double HS has about 21 x 3 = 63 slots

in total 12 + 14 + 63 = 89 slots!

several radiators are in the engine and do not take up slots... but 21 would't fit ))) imho 19 max!

You can fit in 20 if you go with a std 300. It has two sockets in engine. My 6xLLas one had only one crits left if I recall correctly. As fun as the build is, though, I also tend to like it with 4xLLas, 4xSSRM2. Light mech's nightmare, if you can get counter ECM.

The 6LL Stalker is fun. Ran it yesterday and dealt amazing amounts of damage. Just need friendlies to keep things at arms reach.

He-he-he ))) It will not work... Stalker may have only 310 engine... But not in this case ...
Even with STD300 is not enough 2 slots! This is minus 1 DHS...but it is not all with STD300 + 20 DHS we have the weight of 1 ton more! And where you want to "stripping quite a bit of armor"© from asault? 30 points!!! =)))

With the exception of (maybe) chaging out the stock 255 engine, you cannot fit 21 DHS on this mech variant due to critical slot allocation restrictions, I've worked it in the excel mech lab 5 different ways, the game's mechanics do not allow it. You can, however, fit 20 DHS, all 6 LL, up the armor to 16 ton's worth, even throw in an AMS w/ammo, obtain a 1.03 heat scale rating.

On an interesting note: you can drop a 300 XL in this bad boy, manage the above configuration, and even add 2 more tons of AMS ammo because you run out of things to put in and sufficient allocation space per location to max out the 85 tons ;)

I run a 3F with 2 LL/4 ML/4 SSRM w 1 ton ammo/BAP and I can fit 22 double heat sinks. No FF or Endo Steel and the engine is a standard 300 so 2 Heat Sinks do go into the engine.

I need to elaborate more in-depth: The 3F variant carrying x6 Large lasers with the stock 255 engine or the 300 XL cannot fit more than 20 double heat sinks due to critical space restrictions per location.

ok.. a STK-3f w/ 6 large lasers can have.. w/ double heat sinks..

a max of a 310 engine, which means 2 heat sinks in it. (i'm going to use a 300 engine, 310 will weight to much.. as you will see..)

2 in Each Arm.

12 +2 +2 = 16

3 in each Torso

16 + 3 +3 = 22

as there is no other place to put Double Heatsinks, legs can't take one, center torso can't.. nor can head..

22 total heat sinks with out Endo-steal, FF or an XL engine. (if you take an XL engine, you will have to Give up 2 heat sinks for the 3 slots it takes on each Torso.)

Now, when counting this.. i added 6 LL, put in a 300 and filled out one side, Left Arm and torso. I did Not change the armor (starting value at buy = 423.) And i'm at 84 tons.

So, you'd have to stip 4 points of Armor to add the 5 right side Arm and torso heatsinks. And as you're left with only 7 slots left, you can't take Endo-steal or FF..

But you'd have a 6 large laser W/ 22 double heatsinks.. 57.1 speed, 54 Fire power, 1.09 heat and 304!!! thats 304!!! Armor.


I just built it.. i spent 2.3ish mill to BUILD a 6 LL Stalker w/ MAX heat sinks. (i didn't have an extra 300 engine handy, and was to lazy to go pull it out of another mech :P So it is possible to have at least 22 double heat sinks Max..

. No way i'm Driveing it.. WAY to little armor for my tastes.. i've got a Catap CTF-1x W/ 4 LL, 20 Double Heatsinks, AM, TAG, BAP, 69.4 speed, 1.27 heat and 432 Armor.. (it has a 300XL)

and i've a feeling it would rip any stalker w/ 6 Large Lasers and 22 heat sinks to peices...

don't get me wrong.. i'm going to make my own custom 6 LL build, i love the idea, likely even try 6 ERPPCs :P my post is only refering to MAX Double Heat sinks.
