Hi everyone, here's my first post,

Whenever I click on one of the trial mechs in my mechbay, it just shuts MWO down for some reason. Additionally, my launch button appears to be malfunctioning: I can click it but nothing happens.

do you have a mech clicked so that it displays ready across it? You must ready a mech to be able to launch. As far as the crash when clicking on a trial mech I have no idea.

That's part of the problem I assume. I can't select any of the trial mechs without the game crashing.

Edit: This might be linked to the problem: my Mechlab displays no mechs other than the hero mechs, thus I can't create a new mech or select a trial one.

Not to be facetious, or sound like I am talking down to you as I see that you have been a member since 12Nov, but I have no idea if you have any playtime in the game yet. That being said:

When the game first starts into mechlab in the bottom left there will be a 2x2 grid. Inside of this grid should be the trial mechs (if you have not deselected them) clicking on one while still in the home tab should ready it and allow you to launch. Also, going from your description it sounds like you are in the buy mech screen in the mechlab tab. While in the mechlab tab click on the trial mech line in the bottom left of the screen, that should show you the trial mechs. If you are only having this issue after patching you may need to do a full uninstall and reinstall as some files may have somehow been corrupted.
