Yeah this isn't an MMORPG it's a mech sim also they have said they want to add a campaign mode later if they can if you wanna think of that as "PvE" i guess you could but you woun't be grinding for gear and lvls like and RPG since thats what you will be doing in the Multiplayer mode anyway it least i wouldn't think so.

I think most long time fans of Mechwarrior long for the campaign environment. I know that I want to be part of a larger team with goals that affect the universe. A territorial war with objectives and benefits for achieving them and penalties for losing them comes to mind. If the war is won by a "side" it can be rebooted and the war can be waged again. I cannot wait to see what the developers have in store.

A good thing is if they add PvE they wont have to balance PvE and PvP.

Firstly this is NOT an MMO it's a competative multiplayer game. And plenty of F2P PVP only games have done very well

League of Legends
World of Tanks
Dota2
Heroes of Newerth
Tribes: Ascend
Team Fortress 2
the list goes on

That being said most people have a fear of the opposite gametype than what the game is primarily made for. The main reason for this is that in alot of multiplayer games when they balance one they completely mess up something about the other or they attempt to balance both and it endsup messing everything up.

I personaly would not mind seeing a singleplayer/co-op campaign some time in the future that you can purchase so long as they make no attempts to balance mechs/weapons around it

Actually, what I have found is that PvP oriented and designed games (from the ground up) with added PvE do not have to worry about PvE balance at all. It is when they are designed primarily as a PvE game with tacked on PvP that balancing becomes a nightmare.

With that being said, I think they should focus on the PvP aspect at first then gradually add in campaign/clan/co-op PvE. I think it will add a dimension to the gameplay that is not going to affect PvP at all, and most if not all players will find it a refreshing change of pace. Frankly, I want MWO to be all it has the potential to become.

I wouldn't mide some PVE events in the game.
I mean events that effect the whole world.
