Every time I press launch the game starts to load and then the screen goes black, minimizes, and then it says session lost. I also takes a very long time for the client to load up my mech in to the quick launch slots.

It's funny, because I rarely play MWO these days, but it seems that every time I do decide to load it up, it's unplayable due to some bug or gamebreaking bug (remember lrmaggedon? oh wait, wich one was that now? durr hurr hurr). AND they robbed me of my Orion. To think that I was actually considering paying cash for one...

Well, it was fun fo a while, but I don't have big hopes for this game anymore.

Bump. New patch has made this worse than before!!! Now Im getting session lost mid game dont get this with anything else!

At least implement a rejoin option until its figured out. Getting stupid now

Being in the same boat as Bhargest Whelp, it's very disappointing that I can't even play one game a week now.

50% session lost since yesterday, all my settings and files are fine. My ping in Indiana is 20-25, my frame rate 40-50, still wasting my premium time getting disconnected every other match for 24 hours.

I sent a support ticket in for all the good that will do....

Can't play this morning , every time i load in i get The session was lost. If people can't play than why should we pay for anthing in this game?

I think this is caused by hiccups in data transfer. MWO requires a lot of bandwidth. I notice this happens a lot during the day when the net is slowed down by ISP traffic shaping and whatever restrictions they put on their customers but I do not experience it during the late night play sessions.

I'm guessing that the connection chokes due to the large amount of data (comparatively to other online games) that is sent between the server and client and any breaks or pauses in that backs it up so bad that it drops you. I notice that I always spike up to 5,000-6,000 ping before experiencing this issue.

They probably tweaked some threshold limit in the server for tolerance (or maybe in the client). Maybe they made the server less patient in waiting for a reply or it can't handle the load of force-feeding you so much data that you missed when your internet connection lagged for a moment.

I do hope they fix it.

Having the same problem. I log in, get into a game, things start lagging up and it's 'Session was lost' time, worse, I log back in and it says I'm still in the game.

That's not an answer.... I'm playing in the same room as some friends of mine, in the same game, and I get the "Session Lost" message while they have no problems. The servers aren't down, this is a problem and it desperately needs fixing. Sorry for coming off as angry, but I've spent a fair bit of money on this game and I'd very much like to play it.

I have the same problem since today... suddenly the client closes with the message "session was lost". I can reconnect immediatly but its just a matter of time untill the same message occurs again.
I already used the repair-tool but it didnt help.
Everything else on my computer runs perfectly fine so it can't be an internet issue on my side...

I have never had this issue, until today. My sons (2 of them) have never had this issue, until today. The server status plainly says "online" and when I click it, it says the servers are up, so clearly the "session is lost" problem is not because the servers are down. I did a speed test on my internet, lag is negligible, under 50ms, speed is in the high teens mps. I played earlier today. What gives now?

Im having this issue, while friends on Teamspeak are playing so this error is not exclusivly for when the servers are down. :| Please keep your community reps up to date so that they can give out accurate information.

I am sorry, this is not the case. The servers do not go down. It happens depending on the quality of internet that people have and the servers as of the recent patches have been less tolerant of not-so-perfect internet connections. Previously it will freeze or rubberband but allow you to keep playing, but now the game just drops you with this message.

If what you say is true, then your servers are crashing hundreds of times a day.

I have this prob. after 8 August 13 patch, but the server status sill on GREEN.

Yeah , i kind of ignored it for some time now but it gets annoying eventually. I got 2 versions of this bug - when idling in main menu i get disconnected with this messange , so i have to log back (not a real problem) and when LAUNCHING the match . I got disconnected without seeing anything , not even the prelaunch teams and the mech is LOCKED in game. Happens 1 in 10-20 matches but it's annoying as hell when it happens twice in a row . I hate having disconnects in my team and i hate to know that sometimes I'm THE one .

I don't believe this is patching or maintenance. I was in a group with a friend who lives within 15 miles of me, and we were in a battle. I got disconnected with the "Session was lost" error about 1 minute into the fight. He played until the end of that battle. I logged back in, rejoined the group, did another battle, and again got "Session was lost" error. This is clearly not a server reboot or other maintenance related issue.
