I like how you got the ARMD badge on the far wall. Did you do that with decals, or did you modify the UVmap directly?

Used Decals, Below is part of the Node on the wall object have 2 uv maps, 1 for material 1 for Decal, then on the material node, do all the spec and diffuse mixing on the material UV, then mixup the decal img with some transparency on the Decal UV and then mix with diffuse to show final.

Would anyone be willing to take some screenshots for me, I need reference photos for a project I want to start. I need big screenshots of an untextured Atlas from the center front, back, left and right sides and then whatever other angles you can think of. I need to be able to see all the detail and straight lines.

Would greatly appreciate it, I don't want to download all that software just to get some reference shots :P

Do you want ortho projection or perspective?

i requested the same thing [see last page] albeit my request is a tad bit taller. My current project is dragging and i'd like some inspiration for completing it.

make sure you get the cry engine plugin, noesis wont open these files by itself without it.

I know that people can not share the models that they clean up for 3D printing. Is it possible for someone to make a step by step or better yet YouTube video on the clean up process? Would that be allowable by the powers that be?

You can check out this blender tutorial which goes over a lot of the considerations for printing in 3D. The concepts are are consistent across 3d packages and 3D printing ready models. There may be a few extra additional considerations depending on printers. But that'll give you the basic gist of it.

This thread already covers importing geometry.

Hello there,

I would like to 3D print an Atlas. So if anyone have a 3D model of the Atlas in format STL or OBJ.
Please let me know i would appreciate it as I do not know how to operate with 3D programs and don't plan to use them in the future.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

VnZn,

Sadly as of right now no one is sharing cleaned up models due to legal concerns over copyrights. There is some work being done behind the scenes to try to clear it up but no one knows when or if it will get worked out. So as of right now if you want to 3D print models from the game out you better learn some modeling skills.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the nice concise OP. With a bit of reading, I was able to load up Sarah's Jenner into 3dsMax, and get some test renders out. Can't wait to get more time to play around with meshes from MWO!

Side note: I found that some of the new cockpit items have <itemname>_gsp.dds files. Any clue what they're intended for?

Edit: Removed pre-release content, as it violates the Code of Conduct
